So there I was at gamestop today..

Just went in to pick up a copy of Dead Space and a Wii game for the kids. I get to the counter and while waiting about 10 mins for the guy to get off of the phone with his boss. :swearing:

He tells me he needs to see my ID, because Dead Space is rated M - Mature. Now I'm 25, and let me tell you that new face soap I got last night is really paying off. Because I just took off 8 years in one night!

I think my jaw nearly hit the floor, I know I may look young from time to time but I can get alcohol easier than I can get a freakin rated M video game!

Just hilarious, I don't think I'll stop thinking about this all day.

Just had to share with you guys.

lol The people at my local GameStop never card me. Either they figure I'm over 18 (even though I look like I'm 16 (I'm almost 20 )), or they just don't give a :turd:

Gotcha beat pal, I bought L4D there a while back. I'm nearly 29 and look every bit of it. They carded me, and then were looking a bit too hard at my license...so I pull out my gov't ID, and they finally rang the game up.

What's worse, the guy checking me out was too busy trying to pre-sell me something else.. and he looked to be in his mid-30's.

That's crazy.

There was like 5 of us standing there and the guy is on the phone with his boss! Tell the boss you'll call him back!

They're not selling drugs here, they're video games! LOL I just can't believe it!

Just don't understand people sometimes.

I dont know why everyone is so amazed about being carded for things. Really, think about it just a little bit. Stores recently have been cracked down on because they have sold things to people too young to get them. Some people look young when they are older, and some people grow a beard in high school or go bald, and makes them look 30+. They figured, take the guesswork out of it, and CARD EVERYONE.

I'm 20 but look a good bit older. I went to the movies last week to see Friday the 13th and they carded me. That was the first time I was carded for anything in probably two years.

its a good thing and a bad thing in my opinion, inconvience for people of age, but now the wee little ones need a parent there to buy the games, so parents now can only blame themselfs

I remember buying F.E.A.R when I was 15 and not be carded, I guess I'm among the lucky ones who look older.
Anyways Dead Space is among my favorite horror games, I'm sure it will be worth the hassle for you!

Some of the people at my local EB Games know me, so they dont card me, but the other people dont know how old I am... Just too lazy to get a driver's liscence, so i have no id to show them (I am nearly 19, old enough to drink in canada, so i will be getting one before july 15 )
