interesting ram usage - Page 2

Superfetch will not cause a slowdown. Its dump is instant, and will not use 92% of your RAM (especially 4 gigs at idle)

the dump is instant yes, but reloading the cache is not, it has to read the files from the harddrive, thus causing thrashing. and with superfetch turned on on my sig rig i see 90ish % usage idling, but then again ive only got 2GB, so i cant speak for anything more.

No, that is Readyboost. It uses a USB drive to speed up and suppliment the system RAM and reduce HDD access.

Superfetch is what pre-loads programs into un-used memory so they launch quicker.

Readyboost relies on superfetch to work correctly though.
