Just make sure you pick one that says its for 120mm. I have not seen any 230MM fan filters but they might be available somewhere. Some users have used panty hose for the large 230MM fan but that just looks too sloppy IMO ;p.

Oh i forgot to warn you, i do not know which filters are compatible with which case, you might find problems when installing them as every case is different.

More airflow = lower temps at the cost of noise. Another reason i say 1200 for air is because if you are using air cooling then your case probably has alot of CFM fans and with high CFM fans comes alot of dust, the 1200 includes dust filters while the HAF does not.

Unfortunately case reviewers are pretty lacking when it comes to thermal performance comparisons. Bit-tech does a great job but has neglected to use antec 900/1200 cases in their comparisons.
Here's a side by side from Tom's...

HAF won that one. There was another side by side somewhere i saw that HAF won that one too. I'm not saying your mileage won't vary, but, every side by side I've seen shows the HAF better on air. I searched a LOT when buying my case

Nice find +rep, the HAF performed wonderfully in that test. I was only repeating what was said by someone who has personally owned both cases, he may have had his ambients go up after he swapped to the HAF and when he swapped back to the antec 1200 maybe they were lower so he figured the 1200 was the cause of lower temps compared to the HAF, i dunno .

EDIT LOL! i even posted that article when it was released back in december .

I used the search function, if this is a repost i apologize.

Maybe it's me but I've stopped looking at TomsHW reviews as they've definitely fallen in quality (after a few past reviews have been complete jokes).

yeah, i thinks its clear that im going with the HAF now. with 4 120mm sharkoons instead of the 230mm on the side. especially as its the same price as an antec902 and £50 cheaper than an antec1200 and yet performs better than an antec1200 in most cases.

anybody have anything extra to add about the case?

You can also remove the top fan and replace it with three 120mm fans. I am looking at getting the same case and replacing the side and top fans but the 120mm red led fans I've seen haven't been the highest quality. I've used the apevia led fans before and out of the 7 I bought, 2 went bad within a few months. So what I've decided to do is stick with some Scythe slipstreams and add in 2 red led bars I found on newegg. This is also a plus because I can turn off the lights at night when I sleep (computer is right by my bed).

Also keep in mind that after changing all those fans out you're going to have a MUCH higher CFM than before, so that makes the antec 1200 a less desirable choice.

What CFM does these sharkoon fans have? remember most fan manufacturers lie about their CFM value. Cooler master claims the 230MM fans are rated for 150 CFM. So if you are going to spend the $50+ on four 120MM fans to replace them with you better make sure the added CFM is much higher to warrant the cost. (at least 50CFM each or higher on each 120mm fan to see a large airflow improvement)

Another suggestion i have is if you wanted to go a blue theme you can always swap out the front red intake fan with the door fan that you are planning to change out. It seems out of place to me being the only LED fan.
