Triple rad plus single or double?

Yo peeps.
I'm sittin here playing with the idea of running a double or single rad in addition to my triple in the "Gentle Giant" build. So far its only gonna be for a cpu loop and what I'm wondering about is the actual temp drop in adding a second rad.
The pump is a MCP655 so I know it would be sufficient.
What gave me the idea was that a rad sitting on the opposite side would be a great addition and atleast give me some satisfaction. Symmetry-wise that is...

you have a triple rad for a CPU only. a triple rad is already enough to handle that plus SLI. you wont see ANY decrease in temps.

In a cpu loop only your triple rad would already be getting your chip as close to ambient as possible. Adding another won't change anything.

Yea, but if I added a gpu block later... Would that justify it... at all?

still not really.

I'd say go for it, it will help with future waterblock add ins if you get them. I have a similar setup to yours 120X3 and im adding a 80X2 and a 92X2. For example if you got some chipset or gpu waterblocks you could go pump->rad120.3->cpu->rad120.2->(gpu or chipset)->res->pump. keeps individual parts cooler. If you use it just for your cpu, you might see some gains. The longer the coolant is in a rad the better. But increased heat dissipation capacity is better noticed with increased heat load.

BTW nice pump and radiator choice, hope your set up goes well.

well I was a Feser 360 for CPU only I'm installing right now, I've been told it would probably be able to handle my SLI 260's also, but I don't think so, I'd probably add another if I was going to add them in, but if you only have 1 GPU. then i think the triple will work ok.

remember every component you add you loose some flow rate remember that! cpu only 360 is more then enough. I have my cpu and gpu wiht a 360 loop and the water in my res never exceeds 2c diffence from the room with fans. speaking of which!!! you should take temps from your res because that's the only real way to get any valid data on the issue. that water should be close to ambient as possible, within reason of course!

Thanks for all your inputs guys. I've decided to lay the idea on hold and instead I'm going to run my 4850x2 and CPU on the triple rad. I wanted to mount it all in the bottom compartment but with everything there with that layout it would be cramped. Too cramped for a service-friendly build anyways.....

That rad looks like a MCR320, if so, a thicker/denser finned rad like a fesser or black ice would be better.
