any ideas should i go out and drop $ 50 on a good temp probe bay display deal or am i all good

i know the chip has more but i dont want to cook it and ihave no idea what temp to go by
AMD overdrive utility is nice to play around with to figure out some settings, because when you mess up and computer reboots, you are rebooting based on stable BIOS settings... however... using final BIOS settings is better for final OC settings.

V core 1.4 multiplier x15.0 at 3.0ghz is solid for me also. Can't get anything stable past this point myself.

Your temps 15 idle to 36 load seem in line with mine. Mine are more like 23 idle to 42 load. I use freeware "Speed Fan" to monitor my temps.

I stopped messing with FSB settings because I get much better OCing with the mupltiplier settings.

Consider that these chips manage RAM direction rather than throught the MoBo, so adjusting FSB no longer directly impacts computing speed like it used to with regard to OCing RAM and CPU. This sounds weird at first, and took a long time for me to wrap my head around.

Primary computing speed adjustiment is to get 1066 RAM because this CPU is designed to operation RAM at 1066. And set proper timings and volts for the RAM. Straight out this is the singular most important computing aspect with this CPU.

Primary CPU OCing is generally with the multiplier, secondarily with the FSB settings. And most people I know are more stable at 200FSB. Some people use a combination of multiplier and FSB increases to squeek out a bit more speed, but increasing FSB hasn't helped me out much and sometimes also OC's my RAM in ways I don't want.

sweet so i will keep on bumping the juice and the multiplier but before i do that i am going to get a temp probe and test the probe against an old school mercury filld thermomiter to see how well the probe works

and my rig is runing really cool and stabel like the heat sink base is berly warm to the touch at full load so after i run a brobe so i can keep an eye on it I will try shooting for 3.5ghz

My chip is good temperature wise up to about 50c. Under 45 I do fine, over 45 it starts to get a bit dicey.

so i tryde bumping my fsb up 220 x15 posted 3.3 loaded windows and even ran cod5 then it blue screend and died and wouldent load windows after that ,the core is at 1.4 even at 1.425 it wouldent load so i figured the fsb was messeing with soemthing els so i left the fsb alone at 200 and tryde just tweaking the multiplier it posts 3.3 and 3.5 but wont load windows just sits thier anyone have any ideas,
i am thinking giveing her some more juice like 1.475or 1.5v on the core maybe it will load windows

and its not temp related cause the cores are runing cool and even bios is posting the temps at mid 20s

STL_OverClocker has not maintained this thread for many months.
Would anyone care to take i over and give the OP the attention it deserves?
It will require a member list in the OP though, so there is a lot of work to do!

on several builds. I hit the wall after that. 210 x 15. I believe I have been < 1.4v to get it there. This is a warm chip, so make sure you have good cooling. I have one of these builds right now with a Gigabyte 9800GT factory OC'd card, and I am scoring 11,000 on 3DMark06. All for under $600. Not bad.

If I had the time I'd volunteer, but I don't really know what all you mean by a lot of work, and I can't guarantee any consistent attention. I've maxed out my OC with my equipment so mostly I just pop in here for fun from time to time to check the newest posts.
