Got a question, im going to raise my NB from 1.8 to 2.2-2.4, but i'll need to increase the voltage aswell, but which voltage is it NB VID or NB Core? I have done some googling but still have not confirmed anything....

NB Core

Ok... I'm stupid.

I just realized my power supply is a cheapo that doesn't have enough Amps per my video card requirements.

So.... I've been trying to OC my chips with a weak power supply...

Gah... spent some money on a good power supply and now I start over.

hello? anyone here?

had my 7750 BE for quite a while now and ive decided that i want to start overclocking it im not new to overclocking but by no means am i a pro...

i can get to 3.2 easy (havent thoroughly tested this mind you).. but as soon as i go anywhere near 3.3 my system crashes.. ive even tried boosting the vcore to 1.55v and still the same **** happens.

my current clocks:
http://valid.canardpc.com/show_oc.php?id=938628

i know its a crappy board, budget build FTL

can anyone help me break 3.3?

edit: forgot to mention that my temps are fine.. im on air but im getting idle 'core' temps of 17 which means 27 right?

edit 2: after testing a bit, ive found that not much above stock is stable.. i am not bothered about putting more volts in but im maxxed out at 1.55v at full load, im getting 40 degrees when i crash :S

you need to set chipset and memory controler to +50mv
and what cooler are you using
go to user cp and add system to know what rig are you using

Hello,

I just built myself a budget rig with a 7850BE with an older mobo. Was wondering, how does a 7850BE hold itself against the II X2 series chips (excluding 550BE)? Let's say for moderate gaming (MW2, Crysis, etc.) + multi-tasking.

I notice that II X2's can be overclocked much better but since I have an older mobo that I would like to keep using, I don't know if perhaps maybe I should've got a II X2 instead of the 7850? Even though there isn't official AM3 support from Asus for this mobo.

The 7850 was the same price as the II X2 245 but I went with the 7850 since it had official support and the dude at the store suggested the 7850 seeing that I had an older mobo and that I would get more out of my CPU without the risk/work of figuring out ways for the AM3 chip on the M2N32. And the L3 cache on the 7850 was a plus.

Opinions?

If i were you, i would have gotten the Athlon II X2 and then upgraded your motherboard later, just cause its more future-proof that way.. im not sure how much faster the II X2 is than the 7850+ but it is a fair bit faster.

Dont worry though, for moderate gaming, you wont really see the difference.. your graphics card will be holding you back, not your processor

I had a 7750+ and i change it for an Athlon II x2 250 a few months ago, and Regor is very best than Kuma at stock values, and overclocking my 7750+ can't go stable above 2.9GHz, and my Regor goes from 3GHz stock to 3.75GHz overclocked stable, with less temps and voltages...

RAM with Regor at stock values and/or overclocked, is more fast too...

Kuma's in his moment was a very good price/performance processor, but it's definitely outdated...
