the antec 1200 and sniper storm are on par with respect to cooling performance and both provide fans controls that allow you to dial it down for quietness. I would give the edge to the storm as the larger 200mm fans are better at lower RPM but the antec 1200 comes with more fans as part of the package.

the sniper is far lighter and easier to move than the extremely heavy 1200 though. very important to me as I upgrade frequently and hefting the 1200 was becoming a real chore.

I do like the black interior of the 1200 although its tiny window makes it moot. One thing about black interiors is that they scratch easily. the sniper has anodized steel (as opposed to the regular ugly grey SECC typically used in the HAF) and no window so black interior is irrelevant.
Wow... I want whatever fans they used on the Sniper. Hopefully they're compatible with the HAF.

I love the idea of the removable HDD rack. This give it a lot mroe space and less restrictions on the airflow. Also means less cables going to different places.

However improvements can be made. I see space for two 230mm fans on the top of the case and the exterior doesn't look as good as the Antec 1200 or the HAF. But the interior is just smexy.

Would +rep you if i could
Doesn't look as good as the HAF 932 ? The CM Storm Sniper looks better than the HAF... HAF or Storm Sniper ? Go for the Storm Sniper... no doubt

... unless you want the space of a true full tower and option for a 3x120mm rad in the future I know I'd have picked the Sniper if it had offered both of those.

Reminds me of a super-refined CM690 more than anything else (in a good way). Would there have been enough room to mount a 120mm fan behind the included hard drive cage to negate the need to remove it for improved airflow?

I did consider it but dismissed it due to lack of airflow around the gpu area. the front fan is partially blocked by the hard drive cage and is not even open at the front (like the sniper).

I won't buy a case that I can't mount door fans over the gpu area (and NB as well).

If you look at an airflow diagram of the ATCS, the cpu gets plenty of air from the top intake fans but seeing as hot air rises, its a poor design.

One case I also looked at was the Silverstone Fortress but again had similar concerns.

Here are a few more pics assembled (note the two antec tri-cool 120mm fans in the mesh door)

Also, the fan controller is truly awesome. I have every fan in the case controlled by the large front knob (except my cpu fan. I have a zalman fanmate out the back for controlling it).

The setup looks great! Isn't this case a mid tower? i see you have a TRUE and door fans installed, did you have to do any modifications or did they just properly design the case to allow for clearance?

the doors of the case extrude outwards (its part of its design).

it leaves plenty of room on the open side for door fans (you can even mount a 200mm fan in the door, there is not only screw holes for it but CM provides mounting screws). You could take the top 200mm fan out and put it in the door and then put either a dual rad in the top or two 120mm fans. (there are extra mounting holes for either config so no modding required)

the extrusion on the back side lets you fit literally 2" thick of wires
