Cool design, Maestro.

I'm curious about the incline that the user; is that for comfort?

Also, I am intrigued by that wish-bone shaped side support... neato!

I know it is just going to be a chair, but...

Maybe add a "fake" keyhole type mechanism so you can make it sound like a car cranking up?
Add a couple buttons for restart and power on and such?
Just giving out a few ideas.

I like to rear back in my chair and prop my feet up

But after seeing a lot of the other good designs out there I have a totally differnt notion now and I'll work on that ASAP.

Not sure if I'll make it like a car or not. First I want to get the ergonomics worked out and then a feasible method of construction so I can test it out.

you could have a keyboard tray long enough for a mouse as well that slides out underneath the steering wheel.

Knowing your modding skills, you need to take the G25 shifter assembly and make it into something sick looking. Little bit longer throw and a real reverse for a start.

I've been studying the various designs and I can see that using a readily available seat is a key way to simplify it.

I've found office chairs from $50-$300 that would be suitable. Almost every office chair I have seen uses 4 bolts to attach it to the base. The best thing for me to do is to make sub base on the Driving "Rail" that is universal (4 slots) and would accept almost any chair or seat. I'll post some renders of that soon.

Second thing I decided is to skip tube fabrication for now. Too expensive and complicated. I came up with a simpler, cheaper and easier way to build one that will still look good and have a lot of adjustability.

The unit must also be reasonable to ship. This means it cannot be too large or too heavy. With that in mind I am working on keeping any one part less than 48" in any dimension.

It wil be easier to show you what I came up so hang in there...pics to follow.
