XFX support sucks - Page 2

I've never had an issue with their RMA policy or support. They've always been very nice and the RMA turn around time has always been ~ 1 week.

Had the same experience with an XFX 680i LT board. Their scam with those old boards is just to keep sending you dead ones until your warranty runs out. And that name "Brian" sounds very familiar. Basically, if you send them an RMA board, they do not send you a new board back. They send you another RMA'd board that someone like "Brian" attempted to fix. They might even mail it back in a box with no protective wrapping so that it get's hammered around in the box.

I had a slightly different experience with a 9800 GTX+. I bought it off newegg and when I opened the box the card looked like someone had stomped on it. Naturally, it did not work and I RMA'd it. I waited a month. No response on my ticket. Finally, I contacted Nvidia and had an Nvidia representative contact their tech support and light a fire under their butts. Only then did I get my replacement card back and I immediately tested it and sold it on eBay.

They just don't care. I've talked to a LOT of people who have had similar problems. Local shops confirm similar problems with XFX boards, though they say their cards usually aren't bad. Anyone who has had good experiences with their tech support is in the minority of their customers (or is an employee of XFX trying to mend their reputation).

Advice:
1) Document all serial numbers on the card or board you are RMAing with photos. Sometimes they will send you the same board or card right back. They will only avoid doing that if you post a link on your ticket to pictures of the board or card where the serial numbers are clearly shown.

2) Get witnesses of the item not working and signed statements and dates.

3) Just don't buy their products.
If I'm not mistaken, you have to register your devices with XFX, so you can tell if they send you back the same item or a different one.

I must be in the minority, because I sent a ticket in for a registered video card that I have and mentioned the cooler fan assembly was loose. They simply ask me to either send an RMA or get a replacement cooler. I picked replacement cooler and it was at my home within days. From my experience, I've had no issues with XFX's warranty process, but their video card that had the loose cooler does seem to be inline with most saying that use cheaper parts, as I have never seen a fan cooler break away fro the GPU block all by itself.

logic would dictate....
ATI+XFX =

and that

Nvidia+XFX =

at least in terms of RMA/warranty right now considering they don't even make nvidia products anymore.

I've never had a single problem with them. The ticket system works fine.

bottom line: Register Your Damn Cards!

and if you're not in the US, idk what to tell you

and way to necro this thread......i'm pretty sure there's at least one other that has a more recent latest post date

Nope. ATI/AMD or Nvidia, XFX is still an EPIC FAIL

Had an XFX 5770 before my GTX 460. Constant BSODs for no reason, noisy as hell fan and squealing capacitors on it. RMA'd it back to them, 2 months later I get an even worse, heavily abused piece of crap back only with the fan dead this time. Last time I had this much trouble was with an 8600GT, also made by XFX. Had to pretty much shove it in the retailer's teeth to get my money back, and thank god I did. The power components they use (capacitors, voltage regulators etc) are garbage, only thing they actually make themselves is the fancy artwork printed on the box/GPU and their "cool" sounding name. I heard they make PSUs now? Wouldn't go near one made by them if it was the only one left on the planet.

XFX sent back a used power with a sticker that writes "Good PSU". It came inside a very beat up XFX box.

I thought I was going to receive a refurbished PSU...eh well I guess it's better than nothing.
