I just got a pair of anaglyph glasses to play around with, and I sort of like the effect. However, the colors are horrible and I get a lot of "crossover" of the blue/red images.

Obviously the color issue would be solved with proper shutter glasses, but how is the 3d effect comparatively? Better? More obvious? I've found that I have to turn depth up to around 35-50% with anaglyph to really get the effect.

No comparison. Shutter glasses are a hundred times better in depth and picture quality.

I suppose the question I should be asking is, is the difference big enough to justify $100?

Hell Yes!

I spent $500 on this new monitor and Nvidia glasses, even though I already had a great 26" H-IPS panel, and it was one of the best gaming decisions I have ever made!

When 3D is done right, it is incredible immersive and sends shivers down my spine.

Isn't it beautiful. I like to use the word 'SUBMERSIVELY ENGROSSIVE' into my 3D game.

I've been going back and forth now for a few days about getting into 3D, I like the idea alot but haven't been sold on getting away from my giant TV just yet. Whats the best 3d monitor out right now? Preferably something that's good for 2d as well.

Monitors I'm considering:
Asus VG236H
Acer HN274Hbmiiid

Or should I wait for the ASUS 27'', or for newegg to pick up the new samsungs, although I thought those don't support Nvidia 3d. Any help would be great!
