If one was to go back to when NVIDIA first launched 3d vision u would see that all crt/dlp/projectors ALL worked. They all have been since software locked out. I've have been in those forums since page two. Not page two they have now but page two they have since whiped from view. Yes I have been in nvidias forums since then. Shezz, people act as though NVIDIA invented 3d and own the whole idea. Let's not forget that the only thing NVIDIA brings to the table is a pair of glasses and a driver. If ur having issues with ether. Your still on your own as NVIDIA will not help u beyond instructions included in their manual. Their forums are not manned nor will they respond to any posts. Please do not think NVIDIA wants any more from u than your money. I have been in their forums a long time and seen a lot of people hurt/ripped off/lied to and decived by nvidias poor marketing. I have also seen the ban hammer threatened for even saying this and towards owners of said tech for mentioning this. I'm not a hater just been around there too long to beleave that.

To Smo. Glad to read that 3D vision is working for you. Now, for something very important. The 3D which you experienced so far may merely be mediocre. If you want amazing 3D vision, this is what you must do.

In "set up stereoscopic 3D" in the nvidia control panel,
select "Set Keyboard Shortcuts"
select "Show advanced in-game settings"
OK

Use Ctrl + F6/F5 to increase/decrease convergence
Ctrl + F11 to change the sides of the screen.
Ctrl + F7 to save settings (otherwise settings are lost when exiting game)

There are many tricks to getting good 3D Vision. Some games (such as Crysis 1, Bad Company 2, Metro 2033, Batman AA, Mafia 2, Portal 2 -except for water) look excellent in 3D Vision. While other games look terrible and require some work to make them playable in 3D

Lately, I have been playing Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory. To make it playable in 3D, I had to change the exe file name, reduce shadows, reduce depth to zero, and increase convergence. It still looks far less than perfect but at least it is playable in 3D.

Assassin's Creed looks very good in 3D but you likely see some ghosting in high contrast (bright white/dark) areas. I know nothing about your monitor but my Acer monitor needs to warm up about 15-30 to reduce ghosting to a minimum.

YES , I had just bought the 3D vision monitor + nvidia gtx 570 , and It was the first time for me using Nvidia , I've begged for their help in their form , and not a single helpful post , only some minor responses

but then I posted in 3D vision blog , and their was someone called "bloody" who helped us all , god bless him , he helped me with every issue ,

I don't know why nvidia form are like this , we have paid a lot of money to them , why do they treat us like that ?

I'm no hater also, but this bugs me !

"Nvidia 3D Vision" is only about 3 years old. What existed before was not "3D Vision".

Show me evidence that people were playing 3D vision on 60Hz crt monitors. I dont believe it.

Large corps, such as Nvidia, are not only concerned about profits, they are also concerned about losses. In some situations, it is better to not allow low performance/low quality products, for legal reasons. I image that 30fps per eye on a 60Hz monitor might give Nvidia a bad reputation and attract lawsuits. People might decide to sue Nvidia for selling low-quality 3D for use on 60Hz displays. In order to legally protect themselves from losses, companies may choose to strictly limit availability of their product. I dont know the actual reasons behind every Nvidia decision. But to say it's only about money is a very simplistic and not so useful explanation. I could say the same thing about every private company and about every worker at every private/government job. Even people who work at "non-profit" entities often receive a salary or benefits. Even "non-profit" churches receive an income via donations.

I dont work at Nvidia. I do not know their reasons behind every decision.
Personally, I believe it's because of "legalism". Nvidia, in general, does not sell gpu's to end-users such as me and you. They are not directly legally responsible to us. They are only legally responsible to their direct customers (graphics card manufacturers).

If Nvidia decides to directly and officially support end-users, via their forum, then they also accept additional legal responsibilities too.

In other words ..... if Nvidia decides to be a "nice guy" and help people via their forums, they will be vulnerable to legal consequences. Someone could sue Nvidia and say "Here are examples of official support provided on your support forum. I received harmful advice on your support forums. I want my money back! I want financial compensation for damages!".

Nvidia is keeping the discussion open on their forum, while avoiding legal responsibility for what is written on that forum.

We should be thankful that Nvidia forums even exist for Nvidia fans to communicate with each other.

Smo, so you play games in 3D with 2 monitors? How does that work out? I'd really like to know because I'm considering buying another monitor for gaming, but not if gaming with 2 monitors is awkward.

ok, I don't object to the general Idea, sure , It is a very good thing that they even have a forum to communicate with us .

all i'm saying is , I was knew to 3D , and there was no guide as how to activate it, play with it , view movies with subtitles !

I mean , they are the only one with this amazing tech , so how about setting some guide to the newbies ?

by the way , all my problems were so easy to solve , but there was no help !

isn't this the purpose of a forum ?

sure people gather around and chat , but they also help each other !

and the most disappointing thing about them , is when one of the nvidia support comes into a thread and write something like this " we are reading this at Nvidia marketing center , or support center" this was about 6 months ago about why we can't view the youtube 3D , and until now , nothing !

sure , some people got it to work but the others can't !

Cheers dude, much appreciate the heads up - I'll be sure to look into these settings when I get in from work, see what I can figure out.

I'd like to try and improve Dead Island's 3D capability. Considering it's not actively supported it looks very good, and to be honest I'm not 100% sure that the small problems I'm seeing are 3D or driver related.

I'll have a play around nonetheless.

No mate, I only play in 3D on my main monitor. I use my secondary to display diagnostic information on my CPU/GPU etc. It's a right PITA to correctly configure your system to synchronise with the NVIDIA Control Panel in order to display 3D on just the one monitor, but works just fine once you've figured it out.

NVIDIA 3D Vision does not support 3D on two monitors, only one or three. That said, I'm not actually interested in surround gaming. In all honesty - I don't like it. There's too much real estate which I find not only a distraction, but it hinders my performance due to the simple fact that you can't see everything without actually moving your head. I don't enjoy that at all.

Do u seriously think that 120hz was just invented for nvidia, please inlighten us all with a post of any kind that supports what u are saying. Simple to demand proof but why don't u provide some thing ur self to support ur argument that i am wrong. I don't care if you want to accept what is obvious, no harm to me but please don't think NVIDIA loves u......or knows or cares who u are, they care about one thing only and that is what u deposited into their account. I knew there was issues when I bought my 3d vision bundle and i am not bitter because of it but I am also not naive to think I'm any more than a simple user of their tech. I accept it for what it is and the flaws that arise during use. NVIDIA provides the best example of 3d in the home imo but its not perfect. I'm not trying to stop anyone from a purchase but to provide a real and experianced view of where it is at the moment.

I do enjoy nvidias forum and post there often, many wonderfull users. Ps. 3d guru is swelled, he does what NVIDIA should do. So s for the spelling, in a waiting room on a old cell that is horrable, please forgive
