I wasn't very happy with 3D films! thumbsdownsmileyanim.gif
3D games however were very 3D smile.gif
And then I tried putting my classes on upside down! And bang, really good 3D in films eek.gif

So yeah, I was playing them Right image first! Instead of left image first biggrin.gif
So, if when playing 3D films it ain't all that good. Try putting the glasses on upside down! To see if you're playing them wrong, like I was tongue.gif

Which player do you use for your movies? I use Stereoscopic Player from 3dtv.at and it prompts me to choose the 3D format (Half SBS, Full SBS, Top-Bottom etc) and frame sequence (Left image first, right image first etc) when a movie is opened for the first time. I know some peeps use PowerDVD and I'm pretty sure it asks this as well .. smile.gif

I have a big collection of 3d bluray isos. Some faves are, Imax bug, imax 3d space station, flight 3d, sammy's adventure 3d, the ultimate wave 3d, grand cayon adventures and of course all the ones you mentioned.

Sammy's adventure is known to have some of the best 3d, so if you haven't seen that get it.

Guys I need some help, I finally have enough money to buy a 3d monitor and nVidia 3D kit.

I don't have that much money, so I need something in the $250-$320 range.
I was looking on Newegg, and there's this LG monitor
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824005254

it's called Passive 3D or someting and comes with it's own 3D software. It's around $300.
Does this monitor work with the nVidia 3D kit?
Is it the same or lower quality than a regular 120Hz monitor with the nVidia shutter glasses?

I don't know the difference between this and a 120 Hz monitor paired with the nVidia 3D kit.
Otherwise I will buy
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824236104
Asus VG236HE with the nVidia 3D kit.

Also, with what I can understand, any monitor that is 120 Hz is compatible with nVidia 3D?

Lastly, if you guys know of a monitor that is 1920x1080 and cheap, please let me know.

Thanks

I own the 3D Vision Kit. I use it with an Acer GD235Hz LCD (120hz) and a GTX590.

One thing to know about passive versus active shutter glasses is that the effect of depth is much much less with the passive glasses.

IMO if you are going to spend 300+ spend it right. Go with a 3D Vision Ready 120hz LCD and the nVidia Kit. The depth is much better and when you are not using the 3D you have a 120hz refresh rate which is the single thing i like the most about it all. Most times i prefer just to game on 2D at 120hz (120 frames per second) on the gtx590 than go 3D and be forced to lower some settings to get silky smooth framerate at 60/60.

That is just my 2 cents. Dont buy the passive LCD if doing nVidia 3D.

I'm thinking only "NVidia 3D Vision Ready" will do what "you want it to do"! As in, play like we do biggrin.gif
So yeah, more input on that would be good smile.gif

As for advice on buying! I'm saying, NVidia 3D Vision Ready! And I'll say, I'm happy with my acer GD245HQbid monitor smile.gif
But do wait for others to reply, before you buy wink.gif

Thats awful expensive for something thats not even a 120hz display. I also doubt that the software that it uses (probably tri-def) is as well supported as 3d vision.
