[Official] Nvidia 3d Vision + 3d Surround Club - Page 159

Has anyone bought the 3D glasses 2 yet and tried them with headphones? How is the comfort factor compared to 3D glasses version 1? For just under $100 to get just the glasses without needing a IR emitter upgrade, I think it would be worth it. I know there won't be a brightness increase but I find the Asus is bright enough.

Glasses 2 are amazing. And yes I said amazing. The view area is much larger. The glasses are like night and day when it comes to brightness its almost like you are not wearing the glasses the monitors are so bright in them
All my friends that came over freaking love them

They also use a micro usb to charge instead of mini so your phone charger can charge them wink.gif

They are freaking amazing. Had them for about 2 month now. And yes two month. I had the 4th prototype. thumb.gif

There is no difference in terms of brightness between the old and the new glasses. Just try your old glasses on your new monitors.

I also disagree that the usable area on the 3d vision 2 glasses is much bigger. They seem to ghost more towards the outside of the lenses mostly due to the reflections on the glossy frames. I would say that the only real advantage that the new glasses have over the old glasses is the ability to use them with headphones kind of.

Can you elaborate what you mean by use them with headphones kind of? That is the primary reason for wanting them. I know the brightness isn't going to be any different. My computer is in the basement and I usually only game at night so games are bright enough for me except maybe Duke Nukem in the caves....

Unlike with the old style its possible to wear them with headphones but its not really comfortable. My headphones still hit the sides of the glasses. You see the black squares on the ends of the frame that rests right behind your ear? That digs into your head when wearing headphones. After an hour I'll have square imprints in the back of my head. I usually just adjust the glasses. I use an AD-700 which has big ear cups. I guess that if you had smaller earcups that you could get away with resting the arms of the glasses above the earpads. You also don't want to tilt the glasses too much since they'll ghost.

I know that I've mentioned this a few times but seriously try playing with the digital viberance setting in the Nvidia control panel. It really helps with brightness in 3d.

Ok thanks for the heads up. Think I will wait on the purchase, will keep using in-ear headphones when 3D gaming.
