I've been keeping my eye on this thread since I'm sure that more fixes will pop up.

Well, to get that pop out you need to adjust convergence. There are only a handful of games where its locked. In the Nvidia control panel in the 3d vision pane look for "set keyboard shortcuts" then enable advanced in game settings. When in game you can use "F6" to bump up convergence. That'll give you more pop out. Try playing around with it.
One other tip for brightness is to bump up the digital viberance in the "adjust desktop color settings" in the Nvidia control panel. thumb.gif

Thanks, going to try that the next time I load up a game.

thanks for the tips on convergence. I had never messed with them since they are greyed out at first. It makes Assassin's Creed look alot better when high up and makes gore pop out in MKArmageddon. Big thanks + rep

One more tip with convergence is that in games like Titan Quest, Diablo 3, and Dawn of War 2 you can get rid of the double vision on the mouse cursor by increasing the convergence to the point where the ground almost becomes a single image when you take the glasses off. It also adds a ton of pop out and looks cool too.

By the way I hate the performance on Battlefield 3 so much in 3Dvision.

I have a gtx 590 and i can play the game in LOW if i want to stay at 60 fps

Medium and High both can take the game down to 40 fps at times which is not so great.

What he means by use convergence to make it pop out instead of in is take off your glasses and you will see two characters instead of one. Bring the character together so there is one then take it a little more to the right side and you will have pop out instead of in. You will have to play with the depth and convergence for a little bit until your eyes feel comfortable. Because at first if there is too much depth you might feel like your going cross eyed lol.
Edit sorry my page was still a few posts back

Well upgraded my monitor to the ASUS VG278H 27" 3D monitor with Lightboost and Nvidia 2 Glasses. EVGA GTX 580.

There is a difference in the 3D Vision that is an improvement with Lightboost. This monitor was shipped from Newegg, after being reluctant I'd be receiving it working properly, I'm happy. No dead pixels and have no ghosting. biggrin.gif

My original Nvidia 3D glasses also benifit from the Lightboost. Now two of us in the family can watch 3D blu-ray movies at the same time. smile.gif

Still fine tuning with the calibration a bit. If anyone knows of calibration software that pin points accuracy please let me know. I've always done it by eye manually. Heard of calibration software but haven't ever given it a try.

One thing I'm not sure on is in the Windows 'device manager' it's listed as a 'generic monitor'. After scouring ASUS website I cannot find the monitor driver. Nvidia immeidately saw it correctly as an ASUS VG278H monitor in Nvidia Control Panel.

I registered it with ASUS and the two way replacement RMA Warranty (should something go wrong) lessens the RMA time process in half. They send you a replacement immeidately instead of waiting to receive your monitor. Nice customer service perk.

Kush - feel free to update my status on home page. thumb.gif

Wow thanks for sharing this update! I'm planning on getting the same monitor. Funny thing, you have the same speakers I have, now I already know what it will look like sitting next to the monitor. Haha. I read about the problems too, I'm glad you didn't experience any of those issues. How is the backlight bleeding? Not really an issue?

Great, and congrats! Feel free to share more information about this monitor and games/movies, would love to hear about it!

Could you share more pics of your setup with the VG278H in it? smile.gif

As from what I seen posted from when I had that monitor under consideration, MOST of the time the backlight bleed starts after you have had it for a week or so.. you start to notice it a little bit until you have a halo look to the middle of the monitor. Hopefully the current batch of them are free from this defect, or that they will at least do what some people have stated (that it evens out and returns to normal in a week or so.

Good luck with the new monitor, just wish they had been in stock when I was ordering parts.
