I also have a 23 inch Acer GN245 monitor. It is great as well. Do not confuse this with Acer GD245 as they had issues.

Acer GN245 is popular in Europe but i cant really find them in USA.

Arizonian's suggestion of Asus VG278 is great. If i were to buy a brand new monitor now I would save the cash for that monster. earlier models had few issues but i believe they sorted them out.

Even if you game in 3D or not get a 120 hz monitor. It will be a treat gaming in 2D at 120 fps if your hardware can handle it.

hello guys i purchased my asus vg 278h 2 weeks ago...i was playing with my hd 6950 and try to see difference between 120 fps vs 60 fps...in many aspects its really different ...the images are like flowing perfectly and everything is more fluid

4 5 days ago i bought my 680 and jumped in 3d gaming with 3d vision 2....i must say my mind just blew...how amazing is gaming with 3d especially batman series...then i give a try much more games

i wanna share my experience with 3d ,dunno if you feel the same

i am not comfortable with building images behind the monitor surface...i like when they pops out of monitor (increased convergence)

here is my opinions about games in 3d

1-batman series....10/10 nothing to say much... when i swing between building my knees prickles smile.gif
2-swtor 9/10 again amazing visuals...you feel like you are playing with swtor figures:) that name plates is killing the game
3-wow 8/10 not amazing as swtor but there is not any nameplate issues so better gameplay(3d player inspection and many small perks with 3d)
4-deus ex 6/10 not very good as batman but still enjoyable
5-dragon age 2 10/10 stunned when i first saw the game...noting say too much amazing visuals..again feels like playing with figures
6-skyrim 10/10 perfect(need to close shadows in gamefiles)
7-empire total war---napoleon total war no need to play these in 3d...too many glitches in both map mode and battle mod
8-shogun 2 same with others
9-trine 2 9/10 amazing
10-witcher 2 8/10 its actually 9/10 i cut 2 points,,,1 point for needs extreme computer to enjoy high graphics in 3d...1 point for convergence is not working
11-GTA 4 9/10 cant descirbe how fun to continue %100 save game in 3d smile.gif
12- alan wake 8/10 there is some shadow issues
13-black ops 7/10 no pop ups
14-dirt 3 9/10 some shadow issues but fixed them with tweaking msaa and game looks amazing(if you try gymkhana in 3d you cant stop smile.gif )
15-just cause 2 9/10 not great graphics but really enjoyable in 3d and amazing pop ups and gameplay is really good
16-Mass effect 3 10/10 noting to say ..10!!!
17-fifa 12 9/10 needs some time to figure out how to shoot and pass again in 3d couse its more realistic and you need to figure out the distances again in 3d
18-grid 9/10 try cocpit camera smile.gif
LA noire and hard reset...havent tried yet

so i think my best investment in gaming is 3d...its a gamechanger...its something really different

i tried eyefinity...costs me like 800 $ and i was not that stunned...ok i have 3 monitors...i have giant portrait in games...but i didnt felt really comfortable about it

if using 3 monitors is 6 points in my opinion then 3d vision with single 27 " is 9 smile.gif

after playing 2 3 hours when i need to check corporate papers and mails then suddenly letters become having depth lol smile.gif

need more games with unlocked convergence option

I would be looking at the Benq xl2420t if I were you. Its the only display in that size range with lightboost. I've been hearing good things about it from owners too. If you can find a Planar SA2311w at a reasonable price that is a great display too but it appears to be discontinued.

I started playing arkham city in 3d and my god it's good. About half way I think, pretty short game I believe. Can't wait for max Payne 3.

Dear friends

I recently sold my

i5 2500k CPU

Asus P8Z68V-LE motherboard and

Zotac 590 GTX GPU

here in Turkey

I purchased a i5 3570k CPU

Asus Sabertooth Z77 Motherboard

and will be purchasing an OC edition 680.

in USA

I paid maybe an extra 50$ for my new components because stuff in USA are cheaper.

The downside is my CPU and MOBO are in my brother in laws home in San Francisco and I will pick them up when i go there on mid June and return back in early July.

So no more 3D gaming for me for roughly 1.5 months

I am stuck with gaming with my gaming laptop but after a great rig I had, the gaming laptop just doest not cut it for me .

Anyway. When i build my rig back I will be gaming in 3D right away. I already missed it ...
