Asus Sabertooth Z77 Motherboard
and will be purchasing an OC edition 680.
in USA

I paid maybe an extra 50$ for my new components because stuff in USA are cheaper.

The downside is my CPU and MOBO are in my brother in laws home in San Francisco and I will pick them up when i go there on mid June and return back in early July.

So no more 3D gaming for me for roughly 1.5 months

I am stuck with gaming with my gaming laptop but after a great rig I had, the gaming laptop just doest not cut it for me .

Anyway. When i build my rig back I will be gaming in 3D right away. I already missed it ...

Well congrats on you upgraded bud. Well be looking foward to your return. smile.gif

Not to get too off topic from the 3D Vision thread but I do like my motherboard quite a bit.

However after 17 months of driver free problems I've encountered my first driver bug. It's not all ASUS or Z77 boards but I have a power off bug. When I shut windows down though it closes my system still stays running.

I know Nvidia is aware of the problem and they will be trying to fix it with the next driver release. Also rolling back one driver can fix the problem but I never rollback drivers I just move forward and I never download beta drivers.

Luckily I don't shut down my system anyway for the most part it's always on 24/7 and does not have any problem going to sleep or waking up from sleep.

I'm also big on aesthetics in my computer and I carefully chose all my parts to look aesthetically as good as they can without much modification and this board fits my needs awesomely.

See IVY Cruncher system profile pics. smile.gif

It's all gone quiet here anyway! We need some new games to play smile.gif

I might have to RMA my 120Hz screen frown.gif
I think it's a problem with overdrive! And the problem is mostly with text!
I get blur text only on the right side of my screen! But if I turn off overdrive, the text looks the same across my screen thinking.gif
And I would just turn off overdrive, but then 3D ghosts like mad! And also I'd have to reset my brightness every time I turn the monitor on!
So yeah, I have to allow them 28 days to sort it mad.gif

I'm actually thinking of buying another 60Hz one just so I can game on three screens while my 3D monitor is away! redface.gif

Sorry to hear about your monitor hope all goes well.

So we can add to 60 Hz monitors with 120 Hz monitor, all we have to do is set all 3 to 60 Hz is that correct?

Then if you'd like to go 3D vision to watch Blu-ray movies or 3D vision gaming, all we have to do is switch settings in the Nvidia Control Panel to one monitor and back 120 Hz.

Cool might want to pick up two 60 Hz monitors to play with and have the option of going surround or 3D vision. Have the best of both worlds. smile.gif

has anyone successfully been able to run a 3D surround setup with 2 BenQ XL2420T's and 1 BenQXl2420TX? The only difference is the internal emitter on the TX, but all i've seen are answers that it "should" work but nothing official. i can't find anyone who's actually done it themselves

anybody??

i've been really debating between 3 Asus VG278hs and the setup above, and i've been heavily leaning towards the BenQ due to the problems people have had with the Asus...but if i can't run the above setup that's $200 more i'd have to spend on two TXs and that changes my decision making process a bit.

3 BenQ TXs = $1500
3 Asus = $1800

but 27 inch instead of 24. if there's a $500 difference, i'm def going with the BenQ

Yeah that power off bug is Kepler and 3xx driver related as far as I know. I am with you too on rolling back drivers. It is really rare for me as well...

Gosh how will i go on untill June 3rd to play my games again and in 3D? Going back to a gaming laptop after a great desktop setup is a terrible feeling. I can NOT understand how I standed my gaming laptop in the past. It also has 3Dtvplay, the worse kind of 3D experience ever :(

Some 120Hz Acer monitors have a hardware or manufacturing defect that causes half of the screen to malfunction.

My Acer monitor had this problem.

Unfortunately, since this problem is not uncommon, a replacement Acer monitor may have the exact same problem.
Just warning you ahead of time.
As for my monitor, the problem fixed itself after 6 months. it works fine now.

The problem can be temporarily fixed by disconnecting power to the monitor.
Turning off the monitor will not fix it.
Power must be disconnected for approx 20 seconds or more.

If you are lucky, the problem will stop, by itself, after a few months.
The blurry text is normal and happens when "overdrive" is on.
But, of course, you should see blurry text on both sides of the screen.
