Yes vg248qe (144hz) is much better than the XL2420T. Better response times, better colors, decreased 3d ghosting, and of course the Asus goes up to 144hz, vs the 120hz Benq. But in actuality if you are going to be using the monitor in 2d mode the 120hz Lightboost blows the doors off 144hz non-lightboost in smoothness and clarity. No comparison at all! The Benq xl2411t is more comparable to the vg248qe, as they use the same LCD/LED panel. But the xl2411t is hard to find and more expensive.

Ahhh, first world problems.

So, obviously the one card isn't going to get very far at all in 3D Surround with the latest and greatest games so I'll stick to 2d for that and just revisit old games in 3D until my full upgrade and 880's SLID'd.

I had 670 SLI and it did ok with 3d surround. You will just have to have close to minimum settings in 3d surround to get a good framerate on many of the AAA titles. It held its own thumb.gif And OC you CPU as much as possible to get away from the CPU bottlenecks.

Hmmm ok, so is it ok to upgrade from my XL2420TX to the ASUS?

If you could sell your xl2420tx to pay for part of the Asus then I would do it. If the BenQ is going to get stuck in the closet i wouldnt, unless money is no concern to you.

The vg248qe is not a new technology from the XL2420TX, so it wont be a completely new experience. But if you want the best in 24inches , the vg248qe is the way to go. This is all depending on what your goals are. Dont forget the Oculus Rift is releasing this year also and i believe it is going to be a huge game changer, with a completely new gaming experience. Especially for the 3d enthusiasts.

Thanks for introducing the Oculus Rift to me. I'm pretty much amazed as well on how it works. This is gonna be fun for 3D gamers smile.gif It's even less stress for the video cards because of the low resolution, lol.

Yes!!!!! We need games like that in 3d surround!!!! Extremely GPU demanding though. It put a hurting on even my mighty Titans! Ultra settings with 2xMSAA i had lows to 30fps. Doesnt matter though i sat there and stared in awe at my surroundings. Completely Incredible! *Goosebumps*

Hi guys, I thought I would post my results of some of my games in here for those who maybe considering buying a Titan or two. Bulletstorm had V-Sync on but I left it like that, just to show it doens't drop below 60fps.

Tomb Raider and DMC were the best fun in 3D out of these games and the worst was FarCry3 which was just a stuttering mess. All max detail and I let the game turn off AA or lower it because I am lazy smile.gif

I am starting to question the quality of 3D checkerboard via 3Dtvplay.

I can get 1080p 60hz but Batman Arkham Asylum was a MESS.

It was a ghosting festival.

I think it is time to get a 3Dvision 2 monitor instead of 3DTvplay 1080p 60hz checkerboard.

i brought your quote to this thread since we are discussing 3d

FarCry3 is broken. I used the 313.95 drivers on my 680's and it was so smooth, it was like night and day but switching to Titans, it feels like regression in that game.

3D in Tomb Raider is great. It looks and plays very well and it is one of those games that will give me replay value for it being so good in 3D

Again, DMC in 3D surround looks stunning. Out of the games tested, that and Tomb Raider were the best. Great action game but could get a little repetitive.
Bulletstorm for some reason had V-Sync on. I turned it off in the options but it must have been on in NCP. The game looks good but I wouldn't call it awesome.
Hopefully the Far Cry issues is just due to immature drivers on the Titan.

I have been interested in DMC and Tomb Raider in 3d surround. Your 3d review gave me the green light to pick them up. Man i just have a huge backlog right now, hopefully i can find a good sale on them. Do you remember off hand what Nvidia rated the 3d in those 2 games. Good, excellent, or 3d vision ready?

3d ghosting completely ruins the 3d immersion effect for me. I feel your frustration. Have you tried adjusting the TV settings to help fight against ghosting?

Looked like we got you pumped up about some 3d again IARDS biggrin.gif Cant go wrong with a 3d Vision 2 monitor for sure.
