You mean in the nvidia CP? Because if you have it enabled it should turn on whenever you start a game.

Hey guys, my brother is going to be buying a new TV and I am building him a 460 SLI rig. I'm familair with the 3D Vision monitor list but what TV's are 3D Vision ready? I'm assuming it needs to be able to plug into the emitter. I think some of you have said there is no ghosting on the 120hz TVs. That would be a bonus, I still get ghosting in some high contrast areas. TIA.

Only DLP or projector atm.

But Nvidia is working on getting it to work with 3D LCD tv's. Check out this thread:

Here is the list that nvidia officially supports.

And the emitter plugs into the computer, not the tv.

Also, that is correct 120hz tv's (as long as they have a 120hz signal being sent to it, and the tv is truly 120hz capable, not the ones that just fill in frames) then yes ghosting is reduced dramatically.

I go to Start/Program Files/ Nvidia/Enable 3D Vision to turn on 3d. This part works fine. After I exit my game and want to turn off 3d that's where it gets stuck. I go to Start/Program Files/ Nvidia/Disable 3D Vision to turn off 3d. It doesn't turn off though. My monitor's menu shows i'm still in 3d mode and if I launch a game it still shows up in 3d. I have to reboot my pc in order to get out of 3d mode. Am I doing it wrong?

Here is a suggestion a user from the Nvidia forum:
"If you want to 'shake' it out of this i always run the 3d test in the control panel then exit it. It seems to be constant problem where most games won't 'give back' control when they finish and the monitor is left in its brightened state. I've seen this happening ever since i started using windows 7."

Hey everyone,

I am due for an upgrade and after much consideration I have decided to make a 3D Vision rig over Eyefintiy. I am looking at a lot of info on getting it all setup and was hoping you guys could help me with one major concern. I wear prescription glasses and really need to hear the opinion of my fellow glasses wearers on how comfortable this setup is. I found it irritating to wear the Cinema glasses during Avatar and was wondering if this would be similar experience.
Another concern I have is how the rig will perform. I am planning on this setup:
Intel i7-860
Asus P7P55D-E Pro
EVGA Geforce GTX470
Corsair HX750
G-Skill RipJaw 4GB DDR3 1600
WD 1TB 7200RPM SATA 6.0
LG Blu-Ray
In Win Maelstrom
Acer GD235HZbid

I really would love to water cool this but have no idea where to begin with that. I also see myself eventually wanting to SLI this and maybe Vision Surround. What are your guys thoughts on this?

Thanks

Are there any settings that can be tweaked to optimize 3D vision besides depth and convergence? So far most games have looked very good except Resident Evil 5 which is supposed to be a 3D Vision ready game. I have a lot of ghosting with depth at lowest setting, increasing depth makes it worse and convergence cannot be altered.

Not sure what else I can change, I just can't play a game if I can't play it in 3D. Is that being spoiled?

I wear glasses also and thought that it would be a nuisance to wear a second pair overtop. However the nosepieces that come with the 3D Vision kit are very accommodating. I have no problem wearing them for prolonged periods of time, as they fit well and are rubberized for non slip.

I think that your rig should perform very well, how high of an OC are you aiming for? 3.5-3.7 would be a healthy start. Also have you considered an SSD?

I am not the guy to talk to about watercooling though. I really recommend SLI though, I noticed with a single card it was very hard to run games at settings I was happy with. 3D is very taxing on GPU's, and if you ever want to run 3D Vision Surround you will need atleast 2 cards. 3 cards to run it well.
