Yea its something truly amazing and its hard to even go back to 2D. I mean 2d will always be here and I'll enjoy that too, but 3D just makes everything better. Thanks for adding me!!!

so what would a good single card setup be from someone coming from the red camp? i've been looking at the 470's. $250 seems to be a pretty good deal and that's the range i'd like to be in, maybe $300 but not much over that.

The 470 is definitely a good card to go to. But honestly you answered your own question. Go with the best card you can get within your budget.

my budget is flexible, as long as its justifiable. i'm trying to get away from counsel gaming and get more into pc. so jumping right into a 580 seems a little over the top to me. i'd be willing to look at a 570 if the improved performance is worthy of the cost.

Believe me the GTX 570 is more than enough for gaming. It will easily handle any game maxed out (well expected for Metro 2033 of course, as that game even brings the 580 to its knees) plus its future proof as you won't have to dish out a new card in a couple years, just add another 570 for SLI and your good to go. I previously had the GTX 285 and upgraded to the 570 and the difference is huge. You won't be dissapointed.

wait for the 590 dual gpu card that would be the perfect all in one card for 3d vision and 2d stereo suround. dont waist your money on a small card get the bigest one you can afford because youll start to love pc games and youll be trying to sell your old weak xbox so that you can upgrade your gfx card lol.

a 590 would be great, but i am not interested in spending the 500+ for a 580. for me that would be like going and buying my kid a ferrari when he gets his license.
