I just accidentally discovered that one of my favorite games of all times - Cryostasis - looks *gasp* absolutely stunning in 3D with little tweaking!
I've been testing my new MSI GTX 580 Lightings, and decided to see what framerates will I get with this unoptimized hog of a game on max. I read before that this game looked absolutely horrible in 3D, so I decided to check it out. With depth, there is indeed a lot of cross-talk. However, if you turn depth all the way down and add convergence, it looks gorgeous and the pop-up effect is great!
Check out the screens I took, I couldn't believe how good it looked in DX9 in 3D. It still requires a lot of power to run though, I had to turn down caustics, and shadows to avoid drops to 30s, and that on two GTX 580, lol!
Unrar files into empty folder, fire up 3D vision photo viewer in slide-show mode, and enjoy beautiful scenery of mysteriously abandoned nuclear icebreaker
If you never played it and like survival games with amazing storyline, I highly recommend this game. It can be had for like 5 bucks.
