Well since people are talking about it here:

I would have to say my favorite 3D game so far has been Batman AA. If you crank up the depth, the characters will noticeable stick out of the screen especially right after you die where one of the villains taunt you. Also once you unlock the 3D models, you get a similar effect there. Battlefield: Bad Company 2 is another great game and the DX11 graphics make it look that much better. I am very excited for BF3 and assume its 3D rating will be excellent or higher.

I haven't seen many 3D movies yet but I have to say a lot of the animated movies look really good with How to Train Your Dragon being the best I have seen. There is one scene where ash is falling from the sky and it really pops out. I found Tron didn't have that noticeable 3D effects. I hope more studios use the actually 3D cameras and don't do after processing since the quality is not nearly as good.

BFBC2 is 3D vision ready, meaning it was built into it. BF3 should be the same or it would be a step backwards.

I really don't wanna have to put my rig in the flipping laundry room to use it as a htpc. so what kinda of gpu(s) should i stick in the htpc that will render very good quality 3d with 3dvision. The htpc will be hooked up to a pjd6211 and projecting about 11ft to a 106in screen.

My 460s are running amazingly and have no doubt they can do the resolution and quality i am looking for but do i really need this much power for the images i am looking for?

also what would be my optimal set up.

because at this point i have a i7 950 oc to 4ghz on a arock Xtreme3. Just really seems like alot for driving 3d.

help opions needed

Is this for gaming or for watching movies in 3d. Because if it's gaming then you'll need at least 2x 460's to run 3d vision with decent frame rates with eyecandy turned on.

For me Metro 2033 was hard on my one 580 with 20-25 FPS.

Crysis 2 however which is my favorite game currently I'm 50-60 FPS with 3D turned on maxed settings including AA.

I'm pretty sure I'm going to get the same performance from Battlefield 3 but just speculation until it comes out.

Well, after receiving both GTX 580's SC, 3D Vision kit and the LG W2363D display I started building it. Then installed the nvidia drivers, enjoyed some 3D games (damn that was really nice) though it took not long or the driver crashed and I got some small artifacts. After about a week of testing I couldn't get it all to work properly.
So I contacted EVGA and they had no idea's too since I already tested every possibility.
So I have send both cards for RMA, since they seemed to be both bad.

Kind of bad luck here.
Currently I'm running my old HD 5970, but can't wait to get the new cards for some more of that awesome 3D vision!

Pop-out is mostly a gimmick. The best setting is a proper mix of depth and pop-out, 40/60-60/40, because the depth rendering is the real feature of 3DVision, whereas you'll tire of all-out pop-out in a few days.

That's because Crysis 2 doesn't actually use 3DVision honestly. Almost nothing is really rendering with any depth or extrusion and you can figure this out very quickly just by noticing that the FPS from 3D to 2D is almost the same, whereas in any other game it's a 50% drop.

Bottom line you'll never get good FPS in BF3 on a single 580 in 3D with everything maxed. Even in BC2, the desert levels go to hell in 3D mode performance-wise, although the performance is much better in Vietnam DLC.

Either or. I have it up and running now and i can't figure out how to get the 3d video player to convert my 2d movies. where can i get movies that will be able to run with pop out and good depth? i am still playing around with it but as of now the 106in screen is WOW.
