From the previews it beats the 4830 at stock... ATi really got all the price range covered. If only they could put the same effort to their drivers...
Heh aye, it worked fine all week then went nuts as soon as I posted above so back to stock for a while.

I only wanted to find the limit since I saw a 3650 at 900 core with some dudes mad experiment, so I bought one myself, then thrashed it (its still alive, I sold it to my mate )

I just got Far Cry 2 running at max settings with 'playable' FPS I used a messy gun to lag but it was ok.

I bet the day time haze will **** it though lol

I'll walk for 20 minutes and find a bloody safe house so I can advance time to mid-day and see what pitiful FPS I get. The Card is hitting 55*C (31*C idle).

I know it's not for far cry 2, the game runs pretty bad on dx10 mode - it stutters and there's mouse lag

800/1050 (the max CCC will give at the mo) is enough to run Far Cry in DX10 with ok settings. I'm expecting a lot of improvement when I can try a C2D instead of this thrashed P4.

Me Me! I have a crappy MSI version. Hasn't crapped out on me, but after seeing this card, I came to the conclusion that MSI can make some pretty low-end cards. I'm mostly griping about the lack of fan speed control (it's just a simple 2-wire fan, with no sensor/control).

Max clocks have been 850/1050. The core can go a bit higher, but the memory just plain doesn't like to go 1MHz beyond 1050. Too bad too because temps on this card are plain ridiculous--I load while playing TF2 around 39C, Crysis went to around 40-ish, with the max temp I've recorded with this card being 53--and that was on a warm day. My CPU is hotter than this card...

All in all, great bang/buck.

I'm so glad to see people using this card - not everyone has lots of money to throw for a 48xx card and a 1000watt PSU...
I guess we could call this a Green card.

I'm still really itching to try the voltmod - sure wish there was a pencil one, I hate trying to solder anything.

I'm right there with you on this one... The most I ever paid for a gfx card was $200 for my x1950pro, and I hated myself for it--not because it was a bad card, just...felt like a waste of money. So ever since then, I've always gone with low/mid range (nice since I don't have a high-res monitor!). For me, there are severe diminishing returns beyond mid-range cards...

There's a volt-mod for these cards? I'm not great at soldering, but I'm interested to learn about the volt mod since these cards (at least mine) run VERY cool--I'd be willing to bet they have a lot of headroom. Even so, I'm still surprised how much the gpu OC's on stock volts!
