Im running the 9.8s still, 9.9 doesnt look all that good from what ive seen, but 9.8 work good for me, although im on xp.
@ z4520ft your load temp for a cooler like that is too high, with my asus heatsink I only load at about 70 and thats with OCCT gpu test up full. You may need to replace the thermal paste. As for software, overclocking with Rivatuner doesnt work for me anymore, it just crashes and GPUTOOL doesnt let powerplay work, so you may be stuck. Unless you want to edit the CCC limits in the cards bios, but i wouldnt recommend it.

i got 80 @ load from running Furmark stability test for 10minutes...
i've reduced the clock to 800/930 and in actual gameplay, which i test by running batman arkham asylum at windowed screen, the highest temperature so far is 65...can we call it safe?
i just got this card couple of days ago and by replacing thermal paste, will it void my warranty?

i just got HIS Radeon HD4670 IceQ 1GB DDR3 currently running @ 810/990 (750/850 @ stock)
with overclock,my idle temperature 46 and 80 max load.is this temperature acceptable? (ambience temperature about 25)
Yeah, 80*C is around the ball park for a hard session, try to keep it lower though.

i've already set the gpu fan to 100% but it doesn't really help. is it because of the hot air inside my cpu casing? and if i blow some air from 5000RPM casing fan to the front of the card can it give a significant benefit?
cool air is your friend

ati overdrive can't let me oc past 800/930 and no option to manually set the fan speed so i use rivatuner. but i really want the clock speed to be automatically reduced while it's idle.
is there any software that can automatically reduce the gpu n memory core like Ati overdrive did?.
I used CCC to get my default settings saved, then when I activate RivaTuner CCC gets locked out for me (not sure about anyone elses). Its OC tuning seems to be far too muted though. As for the fan control, thats left to the card manufacturers, so its hit and miss whether CCC or any other apps will work (my old 3650 was passive, yet a fan registered in CCC at 90% lol).

It should drop to 2D clocks regardless, when I use my 901/1200 OC (on special occasions lol) the card BSOD's my machine as it drops back to 2D clocks (voltage spikes probably).

Yeah it will probably void warranty by removing the paste, I had to on mine also, it was loading at 100, new paste brought it down to 70.

No arties yet, but my 3Dmark score dropped, which is odd, because the fps ingame during GTAIV and Crysis improved

Again, its just can't suck enough power (I'd consider putting better caps on it), but this card is going to my oldman when the 5670 appears

Well 50% improvement at the least is worth the upgrade as long as it stays power connector free.

no power connector...but how it'll be done?higher graphic processing needs more power...and IMO the 4670 is the best ati can do for now
