Indeed, the 4670 is seriously a great cheap card.. (if bought used) I bought mine for 55$ here and it plays TF2 on all high settings, which I am really impressed about. And it's also not long like the 5770 I have which is great

Count me in. I have the 1GB gigabyte model with the zalman cooler.

Anybody have a vmem mod for these cards? They seen extremely memory bottlenecked.

oh ya

lol, that's as close as i have but i think that the 4670 is pretty sweet, i put one in a machine i built for my friend, its a good performer for a budget machine or htpc, that with an athlon 250 played any game we wanted it to.

....and I own a 4670.

What I'd like to know is, would it be worth it to crossfire these cards? Would I see a difference in gaming? I'm on a limited budget and I can easily get this card for $60 or $70 on Newegg.

Great forum, by the way. This noob has found it very educational.

Hi DireLeon

I found that my 06 score went from about 8k to 13k but in games it was a mixed bag. Dirt 2 had too much microstutter but GRID and CODMW saw a good improvement.

I found it was money well spent when I was running them in Xfire
post #377 of 574
CODMW. Promising. I play mostly first person shooters now and Oblivion, with an occasional game of Titan Quest and Civ IV.

You can Xfire a 5770 with a 4670?
Does it have to be the same brand?

What is this GRID? Nevermind, I'll Google it.

Can't crossfire cards that aren't within the same series

i.e. 5770 with a 5750 or 4670 with a 4650, the chart below will help a bit

So Freakn, how does your 5770 + 4670 work? Are they just there to give more displays or something?
Purely in their for my second display these days..

Have found that running it this way needs no performance drop in FPS while gaming or benching while watching movies
