I am going to upgrade in the next 2 weeks and have my sights set on an Asus Maximus V Formula which is an EATX. I have a P182SE which I plan on reusing. I have been reading all moringing and some say it wont, some say it shouldnt, and some say they know it will fit. I know the p182 is an ATX case, but does anyone know for sure(from experience)? I will upgrade my case too if I must, but I really like my p182!

You'll need to upgrade, because the Asus board is ~10.2" long, which means you're gonna run into compatibility issues with the drive cages as well as the cable routing holes.

It may be able to fit, but it would take up the entire motherboard try.

The Asus support site says the v formula is 12x10.1 vs my current p5w pro turbo which is 12x9.6 that little bit is just a little too much huh?
actually the p182 has a 3x11 inch area. Anything smaller than that should fit fine. I'm gonna try it and upgrade cases if it doesnt work but ill let you know what happens.

You have to remember that your power cords are gonna hang over the edge of the board.

Also, Asus' site is sorta wrong on that one. It's 10.2" just based on how the sata ports hang over on the edge of the PCB a bit.

It's something they don't account for, which can be a big issue.

It will be fine. I will have to mod a few things, but that will hardly be a problem. The SATA connectors will be affected, but I have a way around that. Also, I added photos of my P182SE in my signature. How do I join the club?

Ok, it is done. I am talking to you now from my new rig(see signature for details). But incase anyone else is wondering, The Asus Maximus V Formula will fit in the P18x series cases. I must note that It did require me to remove the upper drive caddy, which is for 3.5 floppy, card readers, ect. Since I have never had the need to install anything in this caddy it was no big deal. The lower caddy holds my 3 HDDs, and my SSD just fine. It was no worse than fitting this Asus GTX 660 Ti, it wouldn't have room for the power connectors with that upper caddy in place. Either way, it is all up and running and personally I thing it looks cool without that caddy, especially if you have a badass intake fan to look at.

Nice! Who do I need to talk to about becoming a member?

That I am not sure of.

Newegg just updated my status to shipped. Looks like its coming from NJ which is around 4 hours from me. I wonder how long it's going to take to get here since I selected the free shipping.

Looks like I should have went with Amazon, it would be here tomorrow for sure.
