I just got done buildin my budget gamer pc the other day and realized after i got everything installed and so forth that it is only running at 2ghz instead of 3ghz.... well the problem is that cpu-z is showing that my ram is 6400 instead of 8500, but when i change the multiplier in the bios anything higher than a 6 multiplier, once i get into my account cpu-z will show the right clock speed and multiplier that i have set and then it just goes back to a x6 multiplier so i have to set it up like this in my bios instead of changing my multiplier cause when i do change it, it just auto readjust's itself back to x6 but anyways this is what i set in my bios cpu ratio 6.0, fsb freq 545, ddr freq 1086 or something around that like the second option down i think its a 1:1 setting cpu voltage to 1.28750 and finally my dram to 2.10 as well as disabling pci and cpu spectrum spread. my question is that i don't want it to reset my multiplier and i'd just be content with a stable 3ghz clock speed.... cause when i have it set like i have before its like 3.2ghz but it can't run prime95 for more then a minute without having a problem. Does anyone know what is going on with this lol ? i've also disabled the intel speedstep hoping that would change it from not auto adjusting my multiplier but if anyone knows what i should have my settings at so i can get a 3ghz stable stock speed that would be very helpful, and my computer specs are in my computer description any other questions just ask i am fairly new to overclocking and i'll try my best to understand w/e i just want to have my processor run at 3ghz lol i've read almost all the manuals on how to o/c and all this but i don't think having it 3ghz would be o.c when thats what its suppose to run at....
