Yeah, I don't know why I didn't do this sooner. I mean, this is extremely vital information for every single overclocker on the face of this earth.

Great thread! One question. Can we have a source link for this TJmax info in the above pic? I have yet to see this on Intel's site.

I've been searching for this. I noticed it does say 'target T' meaning that each chip might not be exactly 90C, but will be close. They also say that in this quote.
Quote:
The PROCHOT# activation temperature is calibrated on
a part-by-part basis and normal factory variation may result in
the actual activation temperature being higher than the value
listed in the register. PROCHOT# activation temperatures may
change based on processor stepping, frequency or manufacturing
efficiencies.
TYVM for the link. Now one last question. I would like to know how to find that on Intel's site. Can you link me the page in which the link came from?

In the event of a catastrophic cooling failure, the processor will automatically shut down when the silicon has reached a temperature approximately 20°C above the maximum Tc. Assertion of THERMTRIP# (Thermal Trip) indicates the processor junction temperature has reached a level beyond where permanent silicon damage may occur. Upon assertion of THERMTRIP#, the processor will shut off its internal clocks (thus, halting program execution) in an attempt to reduce the processor junction temperature.
I interpret this as saying possible damage has already occured, if the processor is throttling(THERMTRIP).
