New to custom building - Page 4

I put a list together for you to look at, tell me what you think.

http://secure.newegg.com/WishList/Pu...Number=6590289

It's a little more than 800 after shipping (~$811 for my area code) but it should work great.

It looks good pretty much the same as mine; just wondering though, how much better is that GFX card than my current one is?

It's basically the same as a 9800GTX+, only cheaper, draws less power (means only one PCI-e power connection needed), and has a smaller PCB.

Sounds great, will it work fine with the 600W PSU I just changed out?
Also, like I said I'm new to this so will I need to buy some fans or any additional cooling for anything?

Suprised no one has said it but you can do better than that quad in your orig setup. a phenom 2 quad is 215 on new egg.

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16819103471

As for the mobo and the ram you can find compatable for the same price I would spend the extra 15$ for the phenom 2, 3.0Ghz

Nope, you won't need any additional fans. I would stick to the Corsair PSU I listed, however, there's not much better for the price. It's not that the 600w can't handle the build, but the Corsair is just that much better.

The motherboard wouldn't support that CPU though would it?

For only $10 more the Corsair does look like it's worth paying the difference.

Phenom II would be a very good alternative that requires a different motherboard (they're usually cheaper than Intel mobos), but if you want to stick to Intel, then go ahead.

Nope but for the 114 price you can find a motherboard that will. Ram is the same way also sometimes G.Skill is only for intel builds. Search around to find a board and ram for the same price thats a AM2+ slot btw and for 15 more that quad blows everyone away. Except the I7 lol wich is way 2 much.

It's starting to get a little more expensive than I would like. If I do go AMD approximately how much would I be saving?
And if I were to change to the AMD and then the motherboard would I have to go and change more things?
