Best Places to buy SATA/SATA II/USB/HDMI Cables?

post #1 of 25
Thread Starter
Hi all,

I am new to this forum, but still thought it may be a good idea to have a thread that has all the info on the best places to buy common cables needed for a build.

I myself have been looking around and it seems that each retailler online varies quite a bit. For example, newegg has great prices and selection on the cables, but the shipping charges almost double their costs. Ebay on the other hand has great prices, but not a good selection and it isnt safe like an online retailler.

If you guys wouldnt mind helping me put together some info on this thread for finding the much needed cables cheap, I would appreciate it.

Thanks in advance!

www.newegg.com:

http://www.newegg.com/Store/SubCateg...=1&name=Cables

Selection = 7/10
Prices = 8/10
Shipping = 2/10
Return Policy = 9/10
Shipping Speed = 9/10

Overall a good, reliable source. However, if you are more conerned with saving money over the selection and delivery speed, better deals made be had looking elsewhere.

ww.frys.com

http://shop2.frys.com/catreq/2516

Selection = 7/10
Prices = 6/10
Shipping = 8/10
Return Policy = 9/10
Shipping Speed = 7/10

Frys is a another great online retailler that most of us know of. They have alot of products as well as try to ship your order the same day. The benifit of shopping there is that the shipping charge is a relialistic charge. Meaning that after you add the first cable to your order and get that shipping charge of around 6.00, you can add 20 more, and its not going to change much.

Overall, this site is very good is you have something in mind that you need. Service, speed, and return policies are great. The only issue I tend to have is that their website interface isnt as user friendly as some of the other sites and their pricing isnt always the best. However, a great place to consider if you know what you need.

Amazon would be the best I think. I just bought 3 HDMI cable the total for all shipped came to $10.

www.ebay.com

Selection = 9/10
Prices = 9/10
Shipping = N/A
Return Policy = N/A
Shipping Speed = N/A

When shopping on ebay, its definatly a roll of the dice on how fast you will get your purchase. However, there is great deals on used and hard to find cables, so I wouldnt rule this option out.

ebay is just too cheap to turn down. I get all sorts of cables and adapters for under $5 all the time.

Check this site out. It's one of the best sites for what you're needing.

www.monoprice.com

You WILL NOT find a cheaper priced site with quick shipping.

Don't go to NewEgg for cables. Most of the time the shipping is going to be more than the actual item.

I agree, I buy my cables from amazon. 6 foot HDMI cables for around $1-$2, and shipping is ~$3 each. All my HDMI cables Ive gotten from them work great, and the price/foot scales pretty well. You can buy a 12, 15, 25 foot cable without breaking the bank. I dont find them any cheaper than Amazon, and the quality is usually there too.

Monoprice's shipping is far superior compared to Amazon.
