Ok, got rid of my Classified and headed back over to my Blood Rage, just love the board. I decided against triple SLI and now that they released a new bios I can rest assured they will be supporting this board. Should be back up by Tuesday so that i can test the new bios. I already hit 4.6Ghz (220x20) at just 1.36v vcore with my new D0 chip, so expect big things with the new bios.

Well.....the new G25 BIOS and PCIE frequency adjustments certainly do allow me to get to 225X21 (4.71ghz) pretty consistently. And easily boot straight into windows at 220X21 (massive voltages, though).

I've pushed it about as hard as I'm gonna on water (1.7v on CPU and QPI/VTT, 2.0v RAM, 1.6v IOH) and can't get past 225 baseclock. Not complaining , just informing.

A couple of notes on the beta BIOS:
1) Any attempt at setting PCIE frequency greater than 102 gives me immediate crashes. Either in BIOS (immediate "overclock failure") or in setfsb.
2) Careful about your preset BIOS templates. It does funny (crashy) things with the PCIE values (defaults it to 138 for me) and the CPU and IOH latency.
3) CPU and IOH skew of 200-400 ps helps me stabilize at over 220 bclock. Also, it is more stable if I make their skews equal to each other, rather than offset at all. Even with P06 BIOS, I got more stable benching above 4.5 GHZ with the skews at 100 ps.
4) Contrary to the P06 BIOS, the G25 seems to like the Aegis Panel more for OS overclocking than setfsb.

Be careful of Core and QPI/VTT voltages of 1.7 v. Took me 15 minutes of repeated CMOS clears/batt discharges and stock settings to get it to boot after that crash. It laughed at the Force Reset button.

I think I've hit the force reset button >1000 times in the last few months. I love that button.

G25 BIOS is starting to get more stability at higher clocks/voltages with finetuning and turning HT off.

8.815 sec superpi @ 4.71 ghz. 225X21. Vcore +420, VTT +420, RAM 1.90, IOH 1.54. DDR3 1795 @ 6-6-6-16.

Attachment 110068

Almost completing runs of SuperPi32 at 223X21. No BSOD's, just superpi stopping. Trying to keep timings tight. May have to go up to 1.95+ RAM voltage.

It's a beta BIOS so you won't get it on Live Update.

I got it from this post made by the Foxconn rep over at XS.

Nice things can happen if you can get around the baseclock walls.

New chip today. 1.5 hours of tinkering on water.

G25 BIOS, but left latencies and PCIE frequencies on auto.

4.98 Ghz @ 161X31

Don't have the time or inclination for rigorous comparisons, but certainly will be trying max OC's and benches with the i7 975 and the 920 C0 on both boards. It will also be neat to see how each board handles quad 4890's.

I've been very curious about how high my 920 can go without baseclock restrictions, and I also wanted to know how high the bloodrage can go with an unlocked multi.

If my LN2/DICE pot ever arrives, it'll be fun to see how much difference the cold can make on each board. (Assuming I'm able to successfully freeze these i7 chips at all with my crippling inexperience )
