I just wish it would let me undervolt the damn CPU. There's no way I need 1.24v for 4.0 GHz.

So I got my parts. I really dont know what to do after I put it together. Should I install OS first and then test everything?

I love the look of this board. Is it still worth getting? I hear Foxconn won't be producing Motherboard's any longer and I'm concerned about an issue cropping up down the road.

Also, I'd like to combo this board with an i7 D0 I recently obtained and this OCZ DDR3 RAM http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820227365

Right now I'm running an E8500 @ 4037 Mhz on an ASUS Rampage Formula with 4 gigs of DDR2 Ram and an XFX 4890. Do you think going up to the i7 is a worthwhile upgrade? My processor does seem pretty fast already. I do see the occasional hiccup in frames when I game, which drives me absolutely f**king nuts (I run 1900x1200 resolution). I just want a silky smooth experience, but I'm fearful that the i7 won't make all that much of a real world difference. Is it worth using this chip other than it might future proof me a little more?

Do you only use your computer for gaming? If so I wouldn't upgrade, as the difference won't be that great. You'd be better off with another GPU. The i7 is a way faster CPU though. You can't even compare the two.

Generally speaking, yes. I do encode the occasional DVD or w/e for storage to my HDD, nothing special. I also stream video to my Xbox 360. Surf the net. Usual stuff. Use Itunes. Burn CDs. I'm not a big power user in that regard, I don't do video editing and the like. I do see some speed improvements on various sites, but I'm not sure if it's worth it.

Maybe I'll just sell this i7 and wait for an i5 ;-)

I'd have to agree with Jason in two regards. Your probably better off waiting as there is a huge difference between the two CPU's but not really necessary for you right now.

As for Foxconn, they aren't going anywhere. There were rumors going around for awhile that they were but it has since been said that they are not (article somewhere just need to find it). They did downsize quite a bit though.
