Isn't it great you can go 8 hrs running prime, but then it shuts down just idling.

One of many reasons I dont stress test for hours. It's a waste of time and puts un-needed stress on my rig...IMO

Today, I'm going to get a new soldering iron and some resistors from Radio Shack.

I think you're planning what I just did tonight . My very first attempt at soldering something.

Does it work?

I'm going to try and do it tonight, but my wife likes to bug me.

I won't be able to test it until tomorrow night at the earliest. Have to try to round up some DICE somewhere after work hours.

Did you have to add any solder? Care to share your experience with it?

I didn't add any solder. Just used what was in the receiving slot. Maybe I should have since my end result doesn't have the ends sloped up the way R1ch's does. I actually tried to, but I don't have any thin solder wire and it was getting so globby I figured I was more likely to mess things up than help. Perfect is the enemy of good.

Funny thing is that I've been holding off on drilling a temp probe hole in the NB pot because the base is so thin. I've been a little bit nervous about punching through the base or inside. But after that transistor mod I just laughed at that hole and showed it who's boss.

I did a OCCT on my stock settings for about half an hour, and my temps went up around the 60s. They were around 30s. Is that alright?

Well, I just got my rig built back up. I completed the pcie mod and its working so far.

I did ruin the tiny resistor from the board, but I had some old 1.5gb hdd's laying around, so I found another 100ohm it needed, but it's twice as big lol. Talk about hard work..

I'm very proud of myself on this one.

p.s. Sorry about the picture quality.
