I did ruin the tiny resistor from the board, but I had some old 1.5gb hdd's laying around, so I found another 100ohm it needed, but it's twice as big lol. Talk about hard work..

I'm very proud of myself on this one.

p.s. Sorry about the picture quality.

Awesome job! Way to MacGyver it with the big honking resistor. That mod is by far the most difficult thing I've done on a computer to date.

Looking forward to some results.

Which reminds me, I haven't posted my i7 920 post mod results here yet.

Way to go C0 chip!

5.1 ghz i7 920 C0 on DICE.

Here's my highest unvalidated baseclock with a screenshot (couldn't get a screenie of the 250X21):
Attachment 116438
High PCIE frequencies mess with my network drivers..

Ok, noob question inbound. How come with my BIOS version P07, I can't select a multiplier of x21, I can only go up to x20 right now and cannot get any higher. Any help or insight would be greatly appreciated.

For some reason this motherboard refuses to allow any sort of overclock or voltage change. Seriously. +1 BCLK = crash. It won't even get to load Windows. I've been fighting with this for 3 hours and I feel like I must be doing something blantantly wrong.

Any ideas?

Set turbo to always on and enable all CPU features except Cxe
post #366 of 711
So what is the advantage of disabling the cxe feature?

by any chance, does this motherboard support 775 water block brackets too? mine should come in today Saturday, or monday, but have been wondering what the 4 holes are for around the cpu socket. I went ahead and bought the 1366 Apogee GTZ bracket anyways.

oh and how good is that sound card? i just sold my X-Fi Extreme gamer today Friday, I hope I dont regret it

also is there a thread somewhere for a guide on overclocking with the blood rage, i see all these new settings ive never heard of before, I was limited in bios settings on my 750i and am sorta lost when i see people post their bios settings seeing PLL< hearing about BCLK, uncore, QPI, IOH (i think thats the NB right?), this, that, etc... FOUND it

Those holes around the socket are both 1366 and 775 mounting holes.

As for the sound card, it is ok, but there is better. One thing though, I can't get it to work with Windows 7. Has anyone figured this problem out yet?

HEREs what i got stable so far. I go anything above 3.6 and the PC resets itself from a Overclock Recovery w/e, tried going +50mv on the Vcore and no luck,

the ram I have is the OCZ 1600mhz but has a XMP profile of 1800, im lost on the memory settings and not sure what to set some of the settings at.

also I dont understand the Uncore on this mobo, the +100 MV for uncore is 100 MV over the cpu Vcore? or what
