What did you set your PCIe frequency at? Nice overclock, by the way.

105Mhz. Thanks. It wasn't stable and froze after about 30 minutes, but it's a start. I need to work out a lot of the kinks. The PCIe mod gives me a lot more headroom to play with. I want to push this 920 as far as I can before I swap it out with my 975 that I have coming. With my 975 I will probably drop back to using P06, so the PCIe mod won't be necessary, but it was fun to see if I could do it, regardless of how hard it is to do.

Ok I have to ask again, because some people have made me scared of this. but is a higher PCI E frequency really bad for HDDs and maybe video cards in the long run? is it bad in the short run? I'm just scared I may lose my HDD if I raise it to 103 or higher as I only have 1 HDD, so that would be massive data loss.

SO in short, how safe is it to run 103-106Mhz PCI e freq? Is damage soon to follow?

My understanding is that over 109Mhz and you start to get into the risky area. Above 119Mhz is usually where people start to lose their drives. Usually it is just them not being recognized, but sometimes you get data corruption. I wouldn't do it for 24/7 daily use, but for benching, that's another story. For me, I do not keep anything on my benching PC that I can't lose, i.e. videos, pics, etc. If something happens to the data I can just rebuild it.

Maybe this is a noob question, but I didn't see a place to change the pci-e clock. Where is it? I have the P08 BIOS, should I try a different one?

Select Quantum BIOS from the main menu. PCI Express Bus Clock should be at the very bottom of the list. If it's not, update to P09.

So what are your BIOS settings for that clock? I'd love to see if my chip could push that!

I don't think P08 has it, P09 and G25 does but P09 gives me massive problems with video etc... I thought my video drivers or cards were messed up, so I rolled back to P08 and have been fine since.

That's interesting. Speedfan used to show my GPU temp in the tray. After a while, it just started showing 00. However, I'm not sure if this was due to me upgrading to P09 because I updated my ForceWare drivers around the same time.
