Some of the stuff it can. I.e. the 'bitmap pager' you can set it to page your texture maps if they are within a certain filesize range etc. etc.
However, say you're rendering a scene that contains millions of polys, lot's of procedural maps (sss for example), displacement maps......toss calculating G.I. on top of that and render it to a 15k x 8k pixel image.
There are ways to get around it and 'make it work' with less memory, but it's not as simple as pushing a 'page to disk' button. Problem is 'making it work' requires 'more work'. Ram is cheaper than my time to simply put enough mem. and render it & forget it.
