Without a doubt, the amount of generosity and kindness displayed by the Overclocking community on the Internet is nothing but immense. From folding@home enthusiasts to individual donations from very generous individuals, the acts of kindness witnessed are inspiring to say the least.
To honor this, Overclock.net is opening up this section of the forum for members to discuss, contribute to and promote registered disease-related charities.
We are focused on only disease-related charities at this time in order to put maximum weight behind the initiative.
In addition, I encourage the community to decide on which main charities we would like to promote and directly contribute to.
A few notes.
(1) This section is a test. I know people can get very passionate about these things. Do not make it personal/political/religious. If it becomes a negative distraction, we can continue on giving how we always have.
(2) We do not want to turn this into a place for spams and scams. Only major registered charities please. We can't check out every charity - it's logistics not personal.
Let's hope this works. I believe this is a tremendous opportunity for Overclockers to continue to unite over a common shared important cause. Overclock.net provides us with a great platform to support these worthy causes.
To help launch this, Overclock.net is contributing $100/month to a charity the community decides on. I will work with an Editor to set this up.
Keep on giving.
