Time to advance!

Thread Starter
I am off to a slow start, but soon i will be doing a full upgrade to the i7.
My funds are going to be spread out across 2 months probably.
To start things off and going. I ordered the Haf, the egg has free shipping on it currently. I have been admiring that case for months, every part of it speaks " beast ". Let me know what your thoughts are on the Haf 932.

Second, thing is the most key part of this system. The mobo! What shall i be getting ? I want to hear what you guys think, money on board 200-450$ range.
I have been staring at eVGA's Classified board. Everything tells me to grab that one up for its awesome NB cooling and 4pciex slots, not forgetting every other aspect of it that comes. However, i have since made a gigabyte 4ghz+ system at work and im really liking the intel chipsets, bios, etc. Maybe a different board should be in play for me ? (LGA1366 - for i7).

Last, I am going to be selling off parts of my sig rig to help me obtain necessary funds for the new build. I will make further posts about the sale in the proper forum and at the proper time. This is just a heads up so a few can be thinking about some items. (Do not reply to this thread regarding any parts for sale, PM me only.) I will be keeping my PSU and optical drives. Everything else will go.

Thanks in advance for advice and help on my new build. Im open to many suggestions. RAM etc, anything else you can think of with these new i7 builds.

Sure.
Do you have an overall budget?
Are you going with a new video card(s) and everything?

Yeah, new cards, new board , new cpu, new ram.
No real budget because my purchasing will be paycheck to paycheck. Not all at once. I should have it fully purchased in 2 or 3 paychecks.
I will probably get Mushkin ram.
i7 proc - unsure which
mobo - unsure, possibly evga classified
gcards - unsure, hopefully 2 cards that are beasts.a pair of 280s or something.
I will aim for sli x2 and then further down the road sli x3 and a phys x card. If i get classified.

What do you guys think ? for a setup ? I am open to suggestions.
Like i mentioned i already have case - optical drives -fans - 1000w psu.

I would definatly like a 4ghz build

You could do 2x gtx285 then add another one down the road.
The i7 920 is good don't get the 940 just oc your 920 and save some cash.
You could go for the 965 I heard there's a new one coming soon 970 I believe.
You might be able to keep your current psu and the tru should have an 1366 bracket.

Would it be worth it to get the 940 over the 920 ? @ a 250$ increase ?

No as far as I know it's just a bit higher speed 920 there's no other difference just oc the 920.
Ok
Core i7 920
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16819115202
EVGA Classified x58
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16813188047
GTX285x2
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814130442
Then your case, fans, true, psu, optical drives.
All you need is an hard drive or drives (if not using what you have)
Some memory and anything elese
Wait and see what others think just an idea.
