Finished up my Armor Jr.

Sound clips were done with my camera placed on top of the case, same location for both runs.
First 10 seconds GTX 295 at 40% fan speed, second test at 80% fan speed.
The after, all you pretty much here is the fan exhaust.
Even feeling the top of the case you can tell how much vibration has been damped.

Pretty impressive results, you don't realize how much vibration contributes to the overall noise.

It's best to save the files, listen to them at the same system volume.

Enjoy

that's pretty incredible, i was skeptical when i read the other thread, and you sir have proven that it does help.

i wonder if you could put some acoustic foam over top of the plasti dip? then place the camera in the same spot and get a 3rd recording. My problem with noise has been, not being able to find a dense enough material that is cost effective and easy enough to put inside a case... you might have found that material

You coated the whole case in Plasti Dip?!

Is that spray on or brush? Looks too nice to be a brush job.

Few questions just for making sure:
1. does it come in few other colors (im guessing red, yellow, green, blue) ?
2. Will it affect the look of gloss/semigloss/mate paint? Will it give mate even if sprayed over gloss?
3. You painted the entire case (inside and outside ) or just inside?
4. did You use plasti-dip on paint or on primer instead of paint?
5. can i put clear coat on top of plasti-dip or doeas it have to be last "rubbery" layer that will dampen the noise - regular paint or clear coat on top of that may ??? suppress those "rubbery" properties?

I just got done Plasti-dipping my CM690, not only does it LOOK SWEET AS HELL, i painted the mesh on the outside as well. Its decreased my sound a LOT (I got 5 yate loon hi-speeds in here) so it sounds less like a wind tunnel now. This is a GREAT product. Just remember to tape off where your case clamps together because its hard as hell to get the panels back together when they stick to each other

Bump.

Was thinking about doing this DIY mod, but the sound sample links are no longer working. I know this is a 3 year old thread, but there are only really 3 threads on this subject: The alternative that i'm considering is using some black felt (which i already have a roll of) in substitute for better noise isolation on my antec 302. thanks!
