Why? its a fact our internet sucks! And our government as I said on our thread will most likely Subsidize the costs but only by a few dollars. Its 49% privately owned so expect price-fixing. This won't be affordable to the general public for another decade I suspect. This will only benefit large-scale businesses.

I was really surprised by this after the string of bad news from Australia for technologies like the web and gaming. Wonder how it will be priced, and if in the future they will be more open with the internet.

So Rudd finally realized that his crappy FTTN plan wasn't impressing anyone and did the sensible thing. I don't believe it. Somebody pinch me.

The announcement.

Wanna see how much our soo called best ISP charge?

http://bc.whirlpool.net.au/bc/isp-9-...reme-adsl2.htm
http://bc.whirlpool.net.au/bc/isp-15...nd2-24mbit.htm

That's at 24bit connection :swearing: We pay more than what you guys pay .

this is the best one imo...TPG but still very expensive.

right. two words: Epic Phale.

why? Because
1: it will take 10 years until it is implemented - obviously being out of date by then. i mean ten years ago we were running on dial up or not at all...
2: it's by the government = epic budget blowout
3: it will be overpriced for the consumer
4: most likely not going to unlimited - 100mbit @ 500MB cap anyone?
5: PRIVACY
6: "90%" meaning not me
