Sure. I just tried with my GTX 295 real quick and the shaders actually reach a LOWER max with the voltage pumped up. The core goes higher but the shaders go lower, of course the card did hit 101C in furmark..that could be why it's not stable...

That makes 2 cards...but still just one person. Maybe it's me?

EVGA voltage tuner, here I come!!!
yeah i played Assassins creed with it and Crysis Warhead.

Without the extra voltage i couldn`t go higher than 1512 on the shaders.

I'm going to go out on a limb and guess that when you overvolt your gpu, you actually overvolt both your core and shaders, and that this overvolting has at least *some* potential to facilitate overclocking both your shader and core clocks.

But perhaps someone who's actually experimented extensively with overvolting could weigh in on the subject ...
i`m thinking the same way
without the extra VRM voltage i couldn`t go higher then 630/1512. so it has to effect the Shaders. unless my shaders produce their own voltages lol.
now all that`s left is a voltmod for the memory...that would complete it

Well...I must have bad luck with cards or something lol. Come to think of it, I've never had a GPU that OCs well at all. Bad luck I suppose?

Yea...Honestly, when I had my 280's and 260s, OC them barely gave any FPS increase, only scores..

Yet the 295, OC actually 100% shows FPS increase and becnhie scores. So really, OC a GFX is sort of useless sometimes.

Geez..just when I get here, you guys are leaving!

Here's the clocks that seem to work best on my 295's:

760/1688/1260. Shaders are bumped up from the core link. fans 100%, eVGA VT=1188. CPU=4.263Ghz (203host x21 turbo) Vantage result in sig. My system is torn apart now...working on water cooling...

I'm not buying that those clocks or CPU speed is stable, but each to his own.

No they are not stable. I admit at those clocks I can't pass a Prime test, but they are stable enough to get through vantage.

I'm trying to water cool now, but am having serious problems. My first card's blue light won't come on. ...the blue light illuminates on the bottom card only, making it the primary display. Both cards have green lights, but for some reason my system doesn't like my first card and goes to the second for the display.

I tried reseating the card, but no deal, still no dispaly on card 1. I switched the PSU cables between the two cards..still no blue on 1st card, only second.

I made sure the internal sli ribbons were attached when I installed the water blocks (Aquagrafx), so I'm at a loss.

I really don't want to drain my system and redo the block.

Anyone have any advice, please.

q56_monster is stable enough to beat me on a vantage run and take my spot on the evga top rigs list. At one point I was second on the single card list. Here are my settings too. As of right now he sits in 3rd place and im pushed back to 7th. I have 2 systems on that list. mcj3671 and dudeman420. And yes I am using the voltage tuner as well as EVGA Precision. As far as why he would want to push his system that hard. I have no idea. I push mine like this because I can. Its kinda like building a bomb that dont go boom. Whats the point if you dont push it. Do we really need these cards? Nope but its fun as hell and the bragging rights are cool too.
