Comp just went blank screen with sound still playing on the background. Is this the GPU's fault? Using latest driver

Lol I'm already doing that right now from the other thread about low L4D2 FPS but anyways will this driver affect new games such as ME2

Just wondering can a faulty PSU cause a GPU to overheat?

Because my GTX 295 is still getting 105 deg, and then starts to throttle only after 10 mins of Crysis. I have a portable fan blowing directly onto the GPU with the side case open, and the GPU @ 100% fan speed. The rest of my system is here:

Thermaltake Toughpower 750W
GA-P55A-UD5
i5-750 @ 3.6
2x2GB Ripjaws @ 1440 Mhz
Inno3d GTX 295 latest WHQL drivers installed
Raptor 150GB
SATA 500GB
LG Blu-Ray writer
with 5 fans connected in the case
Windows 7 Ultimate x64

Take apart your card, wipe off all the old TIM, apply new TIM, reseat the heatsink properly and tightly (but gently) screw in all the screws starting with the ones around the GPU. Make sure you leave your fan speed on auto. Should be good as new.

Already dont this, although I think I might have applied too much thermal paste, was my first time applying it. I used Arctic Ceramique.

Why do I feel like my card is performing below normal level? I've tried your tips of optimizing the card OpenYourEyes and right now I'm running Fallout 3 1080p max settings 8AA 15AF at 45-50 constant FPS. My HD 4850 could run 35-40 at that spec. Why is it that my card performing so low? I looked up some benchmark and tomshardware shows the GTX 295 can run up to 86 FPS which means I should be getting somewhere around that range, not half as much

Well, heres an interesting one - I can overclock my 295's much higher by rolling back from 19x.xx drivers to 185.xx. Will post results up a bit later with specifics - huge difference on the memory clock.

Really need help understanding my card

GTX 295 Co-op SC joining the thread!

I love this card and was able to pass furmark at the FTW speeds. Anything higher on the shader clock crashed my drivers on furmark.
