*OFFICIAL*GTX 295 Thread! - Page 66

Hey everyone...

Did some more overclocking this weekend with the aim of achieving some monster scores and made an interesting discovery - I can get significantly higher overclocks on my GTX295 in quad SLI by going back a few driver versions from 196.21 to 185.85:

I'm experiencing some weird problem. Using the gtx 295, games run at like 60 fps and above. Even though the FPS doesn't decrease, I can see like my game's lagging a bit, slowing down to around I would say 40 fps. Like I can notice things just slow down occasionally but the FPS doesn't drop. Is this a graphic card problem?

That sounds like microstutter, which is an issue with all multi GPU setups. I bet it goes away if you turn multi GPU off.

wouldn't that just be wasting the idea of multi GPU then ?

That's for you to decide. Most games, I don't notice any stutter, and it just so happens that the games I do get stutter in run fine without multi GPU anyway.

Okay yea I don't have it in games like Bioshock but in Heroes of Newerth -_- it's kinda annoying at times

This is Open1Your1Eyes0's old GTX 295 Plus Edition on air. Just bought it and already rippin' it!

756 core / 1620 shader / 1205 memory

(702 core / 1512 shader / 1188 memory 100% stable)

I need new ram, this Corsair won't overclock past 920 mhz.

Nice to see my baby up and running again. That's a beast of an OC by the way, I know for a fact I couldn't get that Furmark stable but maybe not needed if you don't have any issues. Keep check on temps though.

By the way, anyone running 186.18 (which I highly recommend) and playing Mirror's Edge on a GTX295 should use "Single GPU mode" in the Mirror's Edge profile on NVIDIA Control Panel. Otherwise you get texture flickering.

Also here is what the Official GTX295 Case Sticker looks like:

So nothing I try is getting my GTX 295 to run cooler, so I am going to RMA it. In the meantime, can any1 suggest a temporary card I can buy for around $50AU, until I get my GTX 295 RMA'd. I have a 7800GTX still, will that be better than any $50AU card around on the market?
