So when powering a GTX295, do we have to use the dual or molex to 8-pin power adaptor or can we use a single 6-pin to 8-pin?
You have to use the dual 6-pin to 8-pin connector because one 6-pin connector can only supply up to 75 watts of power whereas an 8-pin connector can supply up to 225 watts. Just remember that your PSU has to supply the correct voltage needed to the card along with the correct number of amperes.
Keep that in mind. This card requires you to be able to spare 288 watts and 46 amperes under full load and/or at any point in time essentially. Corsair PSUs seem to be the best choice for running this card. ^^Edited by Imglidinhere - 2/15/10 at 4:21pm
