So can some1 tell me if a Thermaltake Toughpower 750W supplies enough power, 46Amps on the 12 volt rail?

Yes that's fine.

The GTX295 was created by Nvidia. Talk to them not EVGA. EVGA solves issues related to the card they produced and know the basic facts about it. Want the full knowledge? Talk to the creators.

And I know that the card doesn't pull more than 300 watts and I know that's based on the system. But as far as I have seen, it DOES pull around 270-280 alone under maximum load, at least.

I mean in every review, the total system wattage is insane. going as high as nearly 500W in some games.

Here's a good example.

I didn't mean for this to turn into a flame war or a battle of who knows more, but really, the bottom line is that this card just guzzles power like an alcoholic does free booze.

With my C2Q at 4GHz and overclocked quad SLI, my signature rig peaked at pulling just over 1000W (or roughly 850W bearing in mind the PSU's efficiency) during Futuremark Vantage...

That sounds high. What did you measure that with?

A Zalman device that sits in between the plug and PSU and outputs to bay mounted display. Again, this is draw from the plug not actual power uage. The OC's were fairly substantial:

712 linked & 1242 ram on both the 295's
4.04GHz on the CPU

Yeah I understand its from the plug. Does that mean your monitor and speakers were included in that 1000w number? Still seems high unless you were running Furmark and Linx at the same time, but just for 3Dmark?

Nope - just the computer. With quad SLI I get a power draw spike (and FPS spike) in 3DMark Vantage right at the end of the second GPU test (New Calico) just as the camera is panning around the craft near the end... Has happened on both the micro-ATX machine with quad SLI and the big rig, with different PSU's. The size of the power/performance spike is of course dependant on the clocks...

This is the peak usage it gets to throughout the whole of Vantage, and its only for a moment of course.

First overclocking of my 295. The Rosewill PSU is in and it ran Crysis DX10 excellently. ^^ I am very pleased.

I overclocked, tested for a moment, and then played Crysis. The old PSU would just shut off like I said above and this one didn't. I tried crysis with the clocks of 653/1206/1439 and it played smooth as ever with no artifacts or anything. ^^ I even have an old 8800GTS 320mb being used for PhysX too so the GTX can concentrate solely on the gameplay and rendering. Tis awesome incarnate.

This card has surpassed my expectations completely. Oh and I got my new mobo too so that probably helped a bit too. ^^ Nvidia boards seem to like Nvidia cards better and same with ATI boards. Ever notice when you try to put an Nvidia card into a CrossfireX capable board that it never really wants to fit without a little shove into the slot? I noted on how easy it was to just let the weight of the GTX slide itself into the PCI-E slot.

P.S. The 8800GTS was added after said screenshot. ^^

Can someone please tell me why this card doesn't like me? I run Fallout 3 at 40-50 fps all maxed 1080p which doesn't make sense. I've seen bunch of benchmarks running it at 70-80 maxed. What is wrong with my card?
