Sure do. In fact, I think they look better with the leds disconnected and just the UV CCFLs personally. That gives a nice soft glow rather than the LED hotspots.

I found a pic of about what they look like with the LEDs disconnected and kit by UV ccfls. The ones in the pics are Logisys fans, but the Yates look about the same. The pics are from BuckyWootmaster's HAF 932 WC UV Theme work log here at OCN.

So, I read through the fan tests you have on the OP. Are yates fans built to specs or just relabeled. They were talking about better Yates from different locations like the ones from Petra's. Have you noticed any diff? I bought mine from Sidewinder and they were on the "good" list.
This is the first time I've heard of this and just wondered what was your take on it.

All of the ones I have are from SVC. Tator Tot did the big test on all of them. Personally I think for the price you can't really go wrong no matter where you get them from. I only went with SVC as they were the only ones with the UV Blue in stock and I had dealt with them a lot over the years. I don't subscribe to the "Fake Yates" theory. I believe that they just make some with slightly lower specs for some venders by request. I liken it to Seasonic PSUs. Some are higher speced than others depending on what the customer wants, but unlike some OEMs they don't build any real junk psus. I could be wrong, but that's how I see it. For the money even the lower quality Yates are quite a bargain and do a great job. Unless one has some of the better ones and the lesser ones to compare they would never know the difference and would be satisfied with either.

Some of the other people might have a different take on things and that is their privilege. I just think the difference isn't a big enough deal to worry about.

Sidewinder is new to the Good list. After Petra Tech and Sidewinder merged early last year you can get the PTS YL's from them. Pre-2010, though, they were just ordinary YL's.

this club looks wicked. I've got 6 D12SH-12 High Speed Yates, I got them from dazmode.com, so I don't know if they're Petra's yates or Jabtech yates.

My two new Jab-tech Loon SH's both spin at a little over 2200 RPM and seem pretty solid. I'd recommend them, and the price is right!
