I have a P6T. What is this about crossflashing it to bios 0006?

Thread Starter
It's a custom bios created by Asus which allows you to run at the 21x multiplier north of 4ghz without throttling kicking in.

i'm posting here the same thing that i posted in XS's P6T Dlx thread.

well... i can finally say, after tons of cold sweat, that it IS POSSIBLE to crossflash P6TD Deluxe to P6T Deluxe 0006 modded bios.

didn't test anything, and as you can see, i didn't even set the dram timings yet but, everything looks as if it is working properly.

kudos to Unclewebb and Robilar (overclock.net) for all the help, this wouldn't have been possible without any of them

me again... lately i've encountered that the old x20 multiplier instability issue has reappeared with bios 0006.

no matter how i set up bios settings i got random BSOD's and LinX/Prime95 failures...

sucks but at least this instability is resolved with ease by just switching to x21

i'm now at 210x21, gotta love it

I'm using an i7 920 from about 6years ago and still going strong at 3.8Ghz. I feel like my cpu just went bad somehow or the newer games aren't optimized for this old cpu. I am considering buying a better cpu for this board on ebay. Thoughts on which ones to buy and why?
