Why so high? QPI should only be within .4 of dram voltage.

I have my ram set at 1.64 and QPI set at 1.26 (a .38 differential)

No reason.

I was aiming for 200 blck and 1.40 was not in the red.

Some of my issues of instability at Vcore voltages of 1.3 - 1.4 definetly was having LLC disabled enabling vdroop.

With LLC enabled I am able able to set a lot lower voltages and be stable.

Makes sense really.

Is there a way to have the board drop the voltage with the multiplier (LLC enabled) so that I dont have the same voltage when using eist?

If there is then I dont know about it. I know that the Wattage drammatically drops when the multiplier drops but as far as voltage, IDK.

Rob,

The Vcore on your D0 is taking the piss 1.19 at 4GHz!

What are you using to test for stability?

If prime or orthos, which test and for how long?

Also did your retailer offer the 920 as a D0 advertised?

Thanks

yes it is.

using prime

here is a screenie just shy of two hours no issues so far in terms of stability.

I generally do about 8 hours of prime to be sure.

I actually got a D) by accident. I bought it at a retailer and when I got it home and ran cpu-z realized it was a D0.

I think I may be able to go as low as 1.8 at 4ghz.

You are a lucky chappie.

I bought my 920 advertised as a D0 at a premium cost and with prime it will only do 4GHz at 1.35Vc but strangely will do 3.8 at 1.25?

The voltage I have to chuck at it as well as the temps are not worth the extra 200MHz for me.

You should defo play the lottery mate!

All of the i7's behave similarly. anything south of 3.8ghz needs much lower vcore. It must be a design issue. My chip will do 3.6 at 1.13 vcore...

I have read similar stories.

I tested mine when I first installed it and it did stock speed at 0.9Vc with Ht on which I thought was pretty low for a quad, even a 45nm chip.

I had my hopes of low Vc at 4GHz but they were dashed with this chip..
