Before I get flamed on "what a cheap case" I got: I'm proud of the 'Z' on the front of it, so until a better quality case with one comes out, this one is staying with me for very long time.
As the title states I plasti-dipped it. "It's a bit noisy", the wife says (I'm a bit hearing impaired). The case is made of aluminum... everything. As most modders knows, aluminum picks up every little vibration. As my sig says, I'm a computer bum, so I don't have a whole lot of money to buy kits at FrozenCPU.com. But then I came across Grunion's thread about plasti-dipping, and I thought now there's an idea! Bought a can of it for around $6 at my local Home Depot and got to work. Also did a bit of cable management in the process. Enjoy!
Before (what a mess of cables
):
Attachment 106062
Cut out fan grills, you can see that it's not providing alot of air flow:
Attachment 106058
A good outside "before" picture with the can of Plasti-Dip. Covered the top of case because it was riveted on:
Attachment 106059
The finished result without guts:
Attachment 106060
With the guts (ah, cables better):
Attachment 106061
The rig is quieter even to me, however, when I put the side case fan on, the fan itself is loud. Looks like I will have to shell some money for a new fan after all.
By the way, during the first coat, I thought no way is this going to make a difference but at least it will look better. But when it dried, I really could tell that it will eliminate the vibrations.
BTW#2: It only took maybe an hour to 1 1/2 hours for each coat to dry. Just go slower than you would a regular paint can for even distribution, and light coating each time.
Let me know how I did.

Those "Before" fans scare me for some odd reason.

It's a wonder how any air went through the case.
