Big Blue Build i7 build

Thread Starter
So I have been lurking for a while, and was almost going to drop way too much money on a dell quad core with all the bells and whistles for between 6-7k.

I thought better of that after doing some research and decided it was time to build again (the last build I did was back in the dx266 days if you can remember those).

So I made a list, checked it twice and the parts are arriving.

I know I could have done this build a few hundred cheaper but I decided to get the parts I wanted based on other builds and way too many reviews read.

Here's my list (pictures to follow)

main rig (all these parts from http://www.newegg.com)

quad-core i7 920 with 12GB kingston memory (it was a toss up with the corsairs, but I decided to give these a try)

1 CASE SILVERSTONE|TJ07-BW BK RT
1 ASUS RAMPAGE II EXTREME X58 RT
1 PSU CORSAIR|CMPSU-1000HX 1000W RT
1 CPU INTEL|CORE I7 920 2.66G 45N R
2 HD 300G|WEST DIGITAL WD3000HLFS
1 BLU BURN &HD ROM LG|GGW-H20L RT
1 VGA EVGA 01G-P3-1285-AR GTX285 RTL
2 MEM 2Gx3|KST KHX16000D3ULT1K3/6GX R
1 HD 2T|WD WD20EADS
1 MNTR SMSNG|LCD 24" 5MS 2443BWT RT
1 MS WIN VISTA ULTIMAT SP1 64BIT 1PK%

wiring supplies (all these from http://www.jab-tech.com)

Techflex - Case mod expandable wire sleeving kit - Superhero
Sunbeam PSU Modding toolkit

water cooling supplies (also from http://www.jab-tech.com)

Black Ice GTX 480 Radiator 1/2" High Flow
Dangerden Fillport - Delrin
PUMP SWIFTECH|MCP355 R
XSPC - Laing DDC Top
Tygon R-3603 1/2" ID 3/4" OD Chemical Tubing
Swiftech MCRES-Micro Rev 2
LATE LOON 120mm Case Fan - D12SM-12 - Medium Speed
(I also ordered some better fans)

koolance water blocks and fittings (all these from http://www.koolance.com)

1 x CPU-350AC (CPU), Acrylic [no nozzles]
2 x Nozzle Single, G 1/4" Barb [For ID: 13mm (1/2")](NZL-V13KGB1)
1 x Drain Valve [ID: 13mm (1/2")](VLV-13TSPL)
3 x Nozzle Pair, G 1/4" Compression [For ID: 13mm (1/2"); OD: 19mm (3/4")](NZL-V13-19KG2)
6 x Hose Clamp [For OD: 19mm (3/4")](CLM-19)
2 x QDC (Extreme Flow) Shutoff Nozzle, Male Compression [For ID: 13mm (1/2"); OD: 19mm (3/4")](VL4-M13-19S)
2 x QDC (Extreme Flow) Shutoff Nozzle, Female Compression [For ID: 13mm (1/2"); OD: 19mm (3/4")](VL4-F13-19S)
1 x VID-NX285 (GeForce GTX 285) [no nozzles](VID-NX285)

now I am hoping to run both the GPU and the CPU from the single rad.

I am going to try a couple of different fan configuration based on temperatures.

This is a pretty high-end (except for the single GPU) build but I couldn't resist.

If you think I am missing anything let me know I will keep updating as I progress.

I am mostly interested on my water cooling set-up as this will be my first one (we didn't water cool back in the day

Hoping to reach 4GHz with the OC

So I got my rad (boy that thing is big)

my pump, some memory and the 2TB WD drive a few fans and some cable sleeving

I am still waiting for my case and at least the power supply so I can start sleeving my cables and get a basic layout of how I want to mount things, hopefully I will get the rest by Thursday.
