At least,.. Tho thats just my 2 cents, I currently have 1600, but wish I woulda went with the GT's. My cpus's currently at 4.2 GHz, rams running fine at 1600. But I cant seem to overclock it much, even with 1.65v, Anything over 1600, even barely over fails while loading windows

In my opinion its personal pref, alot of ppl are going with asus and gigabyte b/c they are "tried and true". For my build tho i wanted something diff, i read a few good reviews of the Eclipse and decided to give it a go, and i've never looked back. Its a great board overall.

Well i think that the 1600MHz would be perfect for me cause i need my i7 920 @ 4Ghz or maybe 3.8Ghz..

Now that u mention the MSI eclipse i did like this motherboard from the start but i don't know what keeps me from not buying this board ..
I'm now between the MSI eclipse and the Rampage II...

Also 1 last thing i wanna ask about the ram!!!!!
Do i need a ram with extreme memory profile? what this will help me???

Cause if i dont need it i can get http://http://www.newegg.com/Product...82E16820227381 but gonna get 6*2Gigis
Or should i go for http://http://www.newegg.com/Product...82E16820145224 witch is XMP memory 3*2Gigs
Thanks again!!

I'd go for the Asus Rampage mobo, heard great things about it. For cooling, if you are going to use a Cosmos, you could go WC, if you know how to do that. The Cosmos is huge, and you could run some WC loops in there pretty easily.

Good luck mate.

I'd suggest a pair of 4890's instead of a GTX295.

I have both and can definitely testify to the fact that the 4890's in crossfire are faster in pretty much every test (and they overclock like fiends!).

Regarding motherboards, The reviews I have read on the Bloodrage and the EVGA boards have been very inconsistent.

I'd stick with Asus or Gigabyte. Both have plenty of excellent models to choose from.

Also, make sure you get a D0 stepping for your i920.

Ok i think i'll go Asus Rampage. I would LOVE water cooling but it would be lots of money and i don't have them yet for a good water cooling kit.I'll go air for now.
And yes i have the Cosmos S and the GTX 295 so can't change them now
Only motherboard missing now so the overclock of my i7 920@ 4Ghz will start soon!

Noctua U12P also out performs Unlapped True.

Should be able to find a good price. I currently run mine, though at stock, no higher than 34c full load on individual cores. Though I plan on reseating my Noctua, as i am not sure (silly spring design) if my thermal covering properly.

memory with Extreme Memory Profiles (XMP) is highly usefull for the higher Specc'ed Memory sticks. As it will just lock the memory at pre set speed and timings.

Bassically it is memory overclocking in Easy mode for those who don't care to mess with the settings themselves.

the only time XMP is BAD IDEA, is if you decide to use Dual channel memory Kits. Reason for this is Dual Channel memory kits, not originally designed for X58, run much higher voltage, which many will say is a bad idea (the QPI needs to be within .5 of the memory voltage, some will battle this thought though)

Dual Channel Memory kits work just fine, actually what i am using righ tnow since I got some for free. All I did was set my memory settings to standard Tri Channel memory configs and seem to be running fine without a hitch =)

I cannot say much aobut my motherboard, it seems to work fine, I have not learned anythign about i7 overclocking so i cannot speak much about that.

Might be the only one to say this, but I think going for an i7 as your first build and overclocking experience might be putting yourself a little over your head.

However, I'd go for the TRUE cooler with a good high CFM fan. The Coolmaster case is a nice looking one, but for overclocking to 4ghz I'd highly suggest the Antec 1200 as cooling performance on that case is damn nigh unchallenged (being that it's almost entirely open)

You didn't mention which monitor you'll be using or it's size. These are the most important things to consider when buying a graphics card. That tehre 295 may be an overkill and I think right now the sweet spot is an ATI card.
